Default Great sappy 70's ballads!
Growing up in the 70's, my first introduction to music was largely top 40 radio. During the 70's there were a ton of sappy ballads that were big hits and then faded away into oblivion. They don't get played on classic rock radio (and rightfully so I guess) but hearing some of them again after 25-30 years brings back some great memories and reminds me how sometimes the simplest melodies with the sappiest lryics can work into a fantastic piece of music! Here are some of my favorites, I'm sure there's a hundred more that I can't think of off the top of my head. That's where you come in!

10cc "I'm Not In Love"



Climax Blues Band "I Love You" This one is fantastic!!



Ambrosia "How Much I Feel"



Jefferson Airplane "Miracles" A little more sophisticated musically, and a bit racy!

That's the best Bread song IMO Mango.

Dion, not that you should not be posting the songs you did, but I want to say that none of those are sappy at all and in fact those are all great songs, ballads or not!

Wow. Thanks for this guys. This is awesome.

I was born in the early 70's so I dont have a lot of memories of that era, but I certainly remember these songs. They're outstanding!

Especially Bread!
