Anyone know a good diet for losing a pot belly?
After years of being skinny I have developed a damn pot belly and I want to get rid of it. I heard there is a diet where you confuse your body by taking in a different amount of calories every day.

Do 20-30 minutes of cardio each day. Cut down your daily caloric intake.

I have lost 37 lbs since April doing this diet that I dont know the name of, but it is just figuring out how much your body needs to eat and realizing how to make a balanced portion of food of the appropriate size.

Rather than the usual hookers and blow suggestion.. I am going to throw out Hookers and Heroin... not to often you see a fat heroin addict.

I'm pretty sure that you don't see many fat cocain addicts either and I actually think that cocaine would make you lose more wait because it speeds up your metabolism. Although Heroin does make you throw up and have diarrhea so it could be a wash.

From what I've heard, the key thing is that you need to consume a roughly similar volume of food while changing up the amount of calories. Otherwise, you can confuse your body into thinking that food is in short supply, in which case it'll go into a fat-collecting mode. In other words, it's counterproductive to simply skip a meal here and there, but if you are frequently replacing high-caloric meals with low ones, it'll be far more effective.

Fair enough.
But I love how some people think there is a miracle diet that will make them lose weight, when the only answer is to eat fewer calories than they use.
Those that don't understand that tend to complain about how they've tried every diet and they just don't work.
You clearly do get it and are doing pretty good.
Congrats.

Going along with what was said, try to cut back on the carbs within a few hours of bedtime.
Yes, that means beer too.

Fight exotic pets. I think there's someone around here that sells them.

Cut as many carbohydrates and sodium from your intake, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly.

Also, if you're still hungry after eating smaller portions, drink lots of water or eat something like celery.

As has been mentioned earlier, if you are still hungry you NEED more calories. Starving yourself will simply deprive your body of energy, but your body will start storing as much fat as possible. This can result in breaking down muscles for energy, which is the exact opposite of what you want to do. I know excercise isn't fun for a lot of people, but try excercises that target the areas you want to trim down on.

37 pounds since April with no excersize is a lot. Is this an intense diet?

Well I started walking this nature trail today. I think my biggest problem is my Pepsi intake. I drink Pepsi all day long, probably 8-10 cans a day. I will start drinking water instead of Pepsi but I really like my Pepsi dammit!

Sick! Dude, I'm suprised a belly is the only problem you have from drinking that much pop. But yeah, pop puts on the weight like nothing else.

1. Eat well, smaller more frequent portions
2. Drink lots of water
3. Dont eat before bed
4. Be active - not just running or walking, just be active all the time
Stick to it...thats the hardest part
PS eliminating your pepsi will allow you drop pounds without doing much else, if that is the only thing you change

Nope.
We just had a nutritionalist make up a food plan for us, like 1800 calories. I just asked my wife, apparently it is called True Star. The main concept is you balance carbs fat and protien and it raises your metabolism.
The first day was hard, I thought I was going to starve and the second day it got easier, and since then it seems like I am eatting to much because I get full so easy.
edit: Sounds like you are drinking enough pepsi to double your needed daily calories. Switch to diet or better yet water, and you will see a big difference.
