Going to Invermere, which is quicker, 95 or 93?
Which is better, going south on 93, or going all the way to Golden and going south on 95?

I drive there a couple times a month and I always go 93. It's about 2.5 hours from the city limits (in summertime) going that way. It's also a very scenic drive through the park, and there usually isn't much traffic other than Friday night/Sunday night.

If it's a hot day, no question that 93 is better. You get a good amount of shade from the forest. That's a drive worth doing just for the heck of it. If I was a motorcyclist, I'd drive to Radium via the 93 for fun.

Yeah, umm, it's pretty obvious that going 95 is faster than going 93. The speed limit is 110 most of the way I think so why don't you just do that?

Black Forest restaraunt in Invermere is decent if you like German food.

93 is way quicker for the record, about 2.5 hours from Calgary provided you don't go the "suggested" 90km/h the whole way.
Golden is almost a three-hour trip from Calgary alone, from there INvermere's another hour so it's not even close.
Eagle Ranch is the nicest golf course in the valley, hands down. Greywolf comes close but Eagle Ranch takes it. Absolute beauty. Haven't played it this year yet so I can't say this for sure but in past years, the greens are always immaculately kept.
Copper Point is overrated IMO, that course just has a somewhat "forced" layout and the greens are impossible to read.
For the record, this weekend I golfed Fairmont Mountainside. Definitely one of the worst-kept courses in the valley but the natural layout and beauty can't be beat. The mountain slopes are ridiculous and make it tough. Plays pretty long too, I think 7,400 yds or something like that.

Yeah, it's no contest at all. In fact, used to be that it was almost worth the detour to go South of Golden on 95 to Radium and accross 93 just to avoid the disaster that used to be the Trans Canada hiway when heading East from Kamloops. Although apparently the TransCanada looks like a first world hiway in parts now from what I hear.

Watch our for deer on the 93.. There is a section of that drive (I think about 2/3 into it, can remember exactly off the top of my head) where deer love to just sit on the side of the road and eat grass. I've counted 40-50 plus on that section some nights. Also, watch out for jackasses driving way fast so they can get to the lake faster. Mind you, you get that on the way back too. I was passed by a guy on the way home last summer who thought he was on a drifting course - passed me on a corner in a full on drift. His driving skills were admirable but his stupidity was unreal.
If you're looking to stop on the way there for some sight seeing, check out Numa Falls or the Paint Pots. Numa is quick - park your car, walk about 2-3 minutes and you're on the bridge over the falls. I imagine with all the rain and the snow melting that they'd be pretty sweet right now. Paint Pots is a bigger walk but just as cool. Stanley Glacier is amazing, but you need to invest a good chunk of the day for that one. Highly recommend it though. Anyways, enough blabbering from me. Oh yea - If you're looking for a fun, kinda large 'mini-golf' experience, check out Coys. It's definitely not an Eagle Ranch or Radium Springs, but it's still a fun little course to hit with a foursome. Quick too!

^^^^^^ I agree, watch for the deer.
My parent were in town from Ontario 2 weeks ago, and I took them for a drive through there (down through Crowsnest, up the valley and back). My mother counted 48 deer and one black bear between Radium and the Trans-Canada.
Also, there was a scheduled burn for late May/early June, which may be going. That may be what HotHotHeat is referring to.
