Well, just completed a deal where we have send Christoph Schubert and the 29th overall pick in this years' draft to Minnesota in exchange for LW Steve Sullivan.

Sullivan's rating, I think, should at least stay stable, and his salary for next year - 6.00/1yr - is quite affordable for us.

At the moment, I have no solid plans for him. Might be open to just flip him over to someone else who is more confident in their teams' chances for next year than I am.

As for those teams who find themselves in cap trouble, I have a lot of room available, and a solid amount of draft picks and some solid prospects too. Let me know if you have any ideas as to how we can help each other out.

Well pretty simple stuff. Need to shed salary - and Sully was one of the guys ticketed to go. Return isn't great but considering I gave up Stu Barnes+Viktor Tikhonov originally for Sullivan - it ain't bad.

Still need to drop about 15 million more. Will conisder similar moves involving Satan and Naslund.

Well as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter that much pending UFA, non-pending UFA with only one year left on his contract. It starts to become about salary, how bad the team moving the player needs to dump that salary and whats the players rating going to be. Granted if a team has no UFA players they want to resign the urgency to move salary isn't there. Fedorov who'll likely still hold a 76 OV rating went for a third round pick as a salary dump. This is substantially more coming to the Wild. Sullivan is tough to gauge. When he's been able to play he's been very effective. Problem is that he's missed the last season and a third, and hasn't played a full season since 03-04 in the NHL. That can't lead to a very good Durability rating.

I agree with Syls assessment here, great return for Grant imo. Somebody needs to get him drunk and get him online for trades so we can stop his powerhouse franchise from improving.
