Open Mouth, Insert Foot
Looks like the only thing Sharon Stone is good at opening is her legs...
Stone reaps bad karma for quake comments
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/...rma/index.html
French fashion house Christian Dior says it is dropping prominent actress Sharon Stone from its advertisements in China after her remarks about the recent devastating earthquake being an act of "karma."
"They're not being nice to the Dalai Lama, who is a friend of mine. And then all of this earthquake and all this happened and I thought, is that karma? When you're not nice, that bad things happen to you?" Stone said on camera.
This one one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. How do you expect a comment like this to be well received by anyone? 68,000+ people are dead and millions homeless and you blame karma???
I applaud Christian Doir for dropping her so quickly. MAN, some peoples kids. I tell you.

Since it's Sharon Stone, I think "some people's Great-Grandmothers" is more appropriate.
(...and yes, I agree. What a moronic thing to say.)

Horrible thing to say. If she really believes the bad karma thing, she is in for a pretty rough time. As if innocent citizens have anything to go with government policy in a Communist country.

This makes about as much sense as the people that blamed the tsunami on the legalization of gay marriage a few years ago. What a heartless thing to say.

this is the kind of dumb crap you get when you go to an actor for political opinions. I still have no idea why people care so much what these people think just because they make movies....

I could not agree with this statement more. I HATE it when actors spew their BS and people lap that crap up. It is terrible.

Lol, I like how they have "News Release" at the top. Makes the whole thing seem more official, and because of that, I'm going to have to agree with them that God does indeed hate China. Sorry china, it was in a news release.

Its sad to see when Sharon Stone's voice holds enough weight as to warrant a thread on Calpuck.
She stopped being important after Scarface.

I was wondering what the heck he was talking about as well. Unless she was an extra in the background of one of the scenes.

A celebrity saying something stupid is what passes for news these days? That's a shame.

Big deal, they're dropping her from their advertisements only in China. I'd applaud them if they had the balls to dump her completely.

I remember reading an interview with her in Rolling Stone a few years ago. She came off as a total nutcase.

I misread that. I agree with you completely, for some reason I missed the 'in China'. Her movies have already been banned by the government.
