Last time I hung a mirror, it was about 5' x 2' and the clips did just fine.
I have some large pictures that don't require glue either.

there's some kind of foam stuff that sticks like glue to the mirror and the wall. Other than that, it is just those plastic clips. I just took down one that was bigger than yours, but it was resting on top of the vanity top.

Both my bathroom mirrors are on with some sort of glue as well.
Have you tried calling a place that specializes in glass? They might have a better idea what you are talking about.

I've hung many a mirror using those little clips. As long as they are going into drywall with those drywall anchors, your ok. Adhesive is ok in a washroom that has little to no humidity (like a half bath) but if you are having good steamy showers, you run the chance of the adhesive lossening and crashing to the floor. And then you would be screwed with 7 yrs of bad luck.

Didn't think they'd know as much as CP. Really.

My thought was to do both. I would not try with just adhesive.
I wonder how many mirrors I broke in my last life?

I just took a huge mirror (4 feet by 6 feet) down in my bathroom and it had been helf up by four little clips on the bottom and 3 on the top. It was there for years, held up by those 7 clips.

What about that amazing glue thats advertised on TV? Some jackass hangs a basketball net on his garage with it and then a basketball team shows up and hangs off it?

Have 4x4 come over and do it. I hear he's handy and besides as his coach he must obey you.

I have a 4x6 mirror in my bathroom held up by four clips and it doens't feel unstable. I did get a little chrome track for the bottom, but I only did it because the mirror I removed (same size, held up by 4 clips for over 15 years) had one and I didn't want to have to do anything to the tile backsplash.

The stuff you use is called mirror mastic. Just smear it on the wall, wait a few minutes and press the mirror in place. Done.
