My office did this as a retirement gift just afew weeks ago. I must have called 15 places, and they are all $400 - $600. If I recall, Michaels was cheapest, but not by much.
U-Frame-It is cheaper, of course, but I assume you ave to know something about framing.

Not sure if you have tried this yet, but if not, Call Avenida Art Gallery. Last time I purchased something from there I asked about the Jersey Framing, they showed me a couple of examples and they looked fantastic.
Can't remember the pricing exactly but if I recall it can be done for around $300-$350. Don't quote me on that though
I'm actually finishing my basement right now and have plans to get my signed flames and Hitmen Jerseys framed, so I might just head over there myself this weekend and see what it will cost.
Being an Art Gallery, I'd say they could do a fine job framing, probably better than Michaels and a little cheaper too.
Check it out... http://www.avenidagalleries.com/Exam...f_Our_Work.asp
Don't mind the Gretzky Jersey , as you can see, they do a really neat shadow box type of framing, so you can still get access to the jersey if you want.

If you live in ontario, i got my autographed crosby jersey framed for $250.00.
It looks amazing, has a penguins puck above the jersey, a plaque with his name below it, a fairly big picture of him in action in the bottom right and a couple pins beside the plaque. The thing weighs about 30 lbs. It is amazing. Let me know if you're in ontario.

I don't understand, why is it so expensive to frame a jersey? $300-$600 for a piece of particle wood frame and cheap glass? Why can't you just buy a large $15 frame at Wal-Mart, get your mom to fold up your jersey and then put the back back on. If the squeeze is too tight, just add some spacers and close it with stapes or clips on the edge of the frame. If you want a plaque so badly, there are lots of companies who will make those cheaply as well or you can make it at home with supplies from a kraft store. Heck, for the price you are paying for those things you could home depot something really cheaply yourself. It's just a plywood box with glass on the front afterall.

If - (and this is a big IF - I don't know if these places do this), the framing is done properly, the jersey will be attached to a backing that is acid-free and does not off-gas (hey, get your heads out of the gutter here) - and it should be attached in a way that does not harm the fabric of the jersey. The glass should NOT have an anti-glare protector on it and if possible have UV filtering on the glass. It is something that you can do at home, but I'd strongly suggest not just stapling the jersey to the backing of a regular old frame - you'll end up with yellowing and staining on the jersey guaranteed (again, get your heads out of the gutter, boys )

You can find jersey display cases online starting around 100.00. They're usually safe for jerseys but you have to mount it yourself, which I've never done, but it can't be that hard.
