City-wide Poverty Talks meet tomorrow:
Saturday, June 21, 10am-Noon
Downstairs meeting room, W.R. Castell Central Library (616 Macleod Trail SE)
Following up from the various free workshops held around the city, Poverty Talks is bringing together Calgarians working to address poverty in our communities.
Everyone interested in being a part of this is welcome, including newcomers.
The goals of this meeting include:
* Raising awareness of anti-poverty & poverty-alleviation projects and actions in our city.
* Building stronger support across groups and projects.
* Getting more people involved in projects and actions to end poverty.
We’ll be focused on actions and projects for advocacy — ways that people can push for change to address poverty in our city and province.
Individuals or organizations with ongoing or planned projects or action ideas are encouraged to bring details to this meeting. There will be time available for presenting.
If you are unable to attend, you can send in project/action information by Friday night so it can be presented at the meeting for you.
