Default Somebody spray painted my car!

So after a night of poor sleep, I finally get woken up two hours before my alarm by my sister telling me my car had been vandalised. We both park our cars in the back alley next to my house and she noticed while she was leaving for work. I run outside and sure enough the windshield, driver's side window and door all have black smears of spray paint all over them. Wonderful.

I've broken out the Goo Gone and elbow grease, it's coming off slowly but surely, but still this pisses me off! What a start to the long weekend...

I know a medium or fine grade clay bar will work for paint overspray, but not sure if it will work for a car that's actually been spray painted directly.

Medium grade will leave micro-abrasions which will have to be polished out if you're a freak about your car's finish, a fine grade clay bar will be slower but won't leave any abrasions.

Which part of town do you live in?

Stupid kids. Some spraypainted the garbage disposal in my area (Signal Hill) and I got a little worried because it's pretty close to my house.

I'm in Hawkwood... generally a pretty safe district, but there has been vandalism problems here in the past.

I too was surprised they didn't write/draw anything offensive. Doesn't make it any less a pain in the ass though. :P

That's brutal! We might just need to form a CP community watch group a la Homer and his gang of buddies. Bags of doorknobs for everybody.

On a creepy side note, I've never heard of 'goo gone' before. My office neighbour was discussing it not 10 seconds before I opened this thread. This must be what it's like to be in an M. Night Shyamalan movie.

holy crap, i'm right down the road from you. i've noticed an increase in the unreadable scribblings on the sides of buildings, electrical boxes, light poles and trash bins lately in the area.

A razor might bring the paint off the glass easier?

That does suck...
Might not help you now, but make sure you report it to CPS.

I used to live in Hawkwood until March.

I recall there being a car just down the street from us having spray paint all over it too. I always figured it happened elsewhere, but from the sounds of it probably not.

She's all clean now, thankfully before I have to go to work. Sucks though... I think I'll park in front of the house instead of in the alley now.

Oven cleaner works like a charm, for anyone getting hit in the future. Spray some cleaner on, wait 10 minutes, and the spray paint comes off without effort. The old paint remains as good as new.

We had far more creative artists cruising through our neighbourhood last year.

I used to live in Hawkwood in the 80's till 2000. It was a nice neighborhood at first with nice families and new homes. But as the kids got older the amount of trouble increased. Our familiy eventually moved to Arbour Lake for a fresh start. Sorry to hear about your troubles and it's sad to hear about stuff going on there still.
