How many do you need and how quickly do you need them?
Most places purposely limit how many of they have for general retail purposes of any one item like that. Part of the price you pay is for exclusivity, so ordering a whole bunch is a special order kind of deal.

Its getting tough to find solid color ties unless your looking for metallic effects ties.
You might want to try Harry Rosens.
Hell you might want to take a walk through I think its Eatons in South Center they have a pretty wide tie selection.
You could also see if you can find a tailor that can custom make one for you.

you could try the Donald Trump collection he seems to be a solid color tie kind of guy
I don't go for the solid ties much but I can understand why you need them
random suggestions:
comb winners and hope for the best
head downtown where you can find all of Harry Rosen, Holt Renfrew, Grafton, Sears and several other clothing stores...probably highest density of places selling ties, although some of these places will be $$
have you considered the formal wear/tuxedo rental places? if you truly need it only for one day?

I wore a solid light pink tie and square to grad to match the dates dress. I just got it when I rented my tux from that shop at southland crossing. Sorry the names escaping me right now though.
Edit: /\/\ Black and Lee, thats the place. I wore light pink, and I had a friend wore had bright pink so you should be able to find something.

I just called my clothing guy Thomas up at Ed Williams MensWear in Crowfoot.
They have solid bright pink ties and pocket squares (and cream as well).
The solid pink ones that they have currently in-store have some underlying texture to the colour (whatever that means) but they can order in 100% solid ones relatively quickly as well.
Call Thomas at 241-2111 this afternoon and he can give you details.
Great store too by the way! And i know a few people from Calgarypuck have been up that way both on my advice and just by chance! Not a cheap place, but high quality with great selection and awesome service, especially for younger professional types/styles. (Which you wouldn't think to be the case from the exterior.)
Claeren.

I'm picturing either a subtle pattern or elevation to the tie as opposed to a pure 'sheen'

I have three solid pink ties. There are plenty of them in Shanghai, but I don't think that helps you really.

Try Mexx or Zara. They should have them. Solid ties don't seem to be as "in" these days and are harder to find. Poor Regis
