Default IMDB Top 250: How many have you seen?

IMDB keeps a running chart of the top 250 ranked movies on its site. If you log in to http://twofifty.org/ you can keep tabs on how many of them you have seen.

I am utterly embarrassed to admit that I have seen only 47/250.

That's horrible.

I've only seen 30/250. I thought there would be more.

I was hoping to get a bump from the Police Academy and National Lampoons movies but the don't appear on the list. BS!

I have seen 60. The fact that hot fuzz is considered to be one of the best 250 movies of all time is awesome.

I've seen 88 but I think there are more. Would be helpful if there was a pic of the movie or something to rehash the memory for some of them.

I got 51/250, not bad for me who generally only sees mainstream movies.

I have seen 71/250

Higher than I expected considering the frequency of which I watch movies.

Only 43 for me. I guess I prefer the light, fluffy crap that Hollywood puts out.

Apparently I've only seen 63... however many of them I think I've seen but don't remember so I didn't put them in. I'm going to have to go through the list from top to bottom and watch them all at some point.

I've seen 90. Not bad, there are a bunch I would like to see, and a few on there I know I have seen, but can't recall too much about them.

In groups of 10:

1-10 7
11-20 7
21-30 8
31-40 7
41-50 7
51-60 5
61-70 5
71-80 2
81-90 2
91-100 3
101-110 4
111-120 5
121-130 7
131-140 3
141-150 5
151-160 4*
161-170 4
171-180 3
181-190 5
191-200 3
201-210 2
211-220 3
221-230 6
231-240 3
241-250 1

Which totals 108. How empirical can this list really be considered when Iron Man, not even a week old, is already on it?

*edit: Sorry, I misread 8 1/2 as 9 1/2 Weeks, the former of which I HAVE seen, the latter I have not (and I'm sure I'm missing out!)

103/250. Not bad considering I'm really not big on classic films.

Although, I have to say, that list has its odd quirks.

Groundhog Day? Top 250 all time? Really?
12 Monkeys?
Children of Men?

Suspect choices in my opinion.

I'm at 97/250.

I got no issue with this list, it's movies that a whole spectrum of people from different types of backgrounds and ages. It's not like IMDB enlists a bunch of critics to compose this list.

The issue I have with IMDB's ratings is that a film can be rated super high before it is even released. I read a Roger Ebert review a few months ago and he wondered aloud how the movie he was reviewing, which hadn't even been released yet, but was in the top ten on IMDB (I can't recall the review or I would link it).

Once it has been out for a long time, the ratings become a bit more realistic as honest people record there votes, but I think IMDB has been subject to a few jihad's for certain films.

80 for me. Of those 80 I've seen pretty much all of them at least twice.

These are just the highest-rated flicks though, not 'the best'. While I love 'Hot Fuzz' there's no way it and 'Shaun of the Dead' should both be in the top 250.
