older laptop ... broken dvd drive is there a salvage place in town?

Dell L attitude D800 ...

picked up at work for my seven year old to learn the pc world on and he tipped it off a desk and wrecked the disk drive.

is there a store or recycle place where you can scavenge pc parts?

I haven't been there in years but Computer Surplus on 32nd Ave NE used to occasionally get parts like this. Timing is everything of course.

I also found this DVDR+/-W drive through Google for $79.99 USD. Looks like it adds DVD burning which I don't think you have on the factory drive.
