Interesting the Calgary SUN would be quoted in here. Another column on Democrats moving to Canada.

I'm sure they're all gay Democrats too.
They forgot to mention that "although in recent years between 5,000 and 6,000 more (Americans) have headed north annually," 11,000 Canadians a year have been moving down to the States. Looks like we're loosing Canadians at an alarming rate considering we've only got a tenth of the population of the USA.

It's always been like that though. The U.S. has a much more diverse job market.

I know. It was just my way of pointing out what a bogus "news" story this is . . . a piece of fiction that could only be dreamed up and perpetuated by the CBC.

But oddly enough it was dreamed up and perpetuated by an American media outlet.
As for your "we are losing Canadians at an alarming rate" theory, I agree. If things continue at their current pace then by the year 2054 we will have lost approximately 1% of our population to the United States (very roughly, according to your numbers).

Apparently you haven't been listening to the CBC for the last couple of months. The American media only notices us up here in Canada when the CBC or our beloved Ms. Parish say something stupid.

Actually I listen to the CBC every day. I don't know what that has to do with this though, as it was an NBC story.
Neither the CBC or Carolyn Parrish are mentioned.

Sammie, have you ever thought of moving south?
Why change our great nation when there is exactly the type of christian paradise that you want only a few hours south?

You realize your comment came out of nowhere and seems more like a personal beef that has nothing do with that column? Why drag the CBC into this?

Because this fictitious bit of news about Americans, on mass, loading up their worldly goods and rushing to Canada has been running almost daily on the CBC since the Presidential election.
However, you are partially right. I have a personal beef against the CBC. It has ceased to be relevant since it was taken over by agenda-driven people who are set on changing the fabric of Canadian society for their own purpose and democracy be damned!

What if you only feel like you are in the majority because those are the people you surround yourself with?
Not that i like the population distribution in Canada, but maybe the CBC IS balanced from the perspecitve of the true majority of Canadians? Alberta is less the 10% of our population and only ~60%'ish of us, max, think the CBC is too far left. That is 6% of the population.... ?
Although when faced with the alternative, CNN and FOX and company, i am quite happy to sit back and watch CBC...

Okay lets try this again -- it's an NBC article Sammie. It's an American media outlet doing an American story about Americans moving away from America. The CBC has nothing to do with it.
You insist on calling this a piece of CBC fiction when it is clearly not fiction nor is it CBC.
I watch the CBC fairly often and I don't recall seeing this "Americans moving en masse to Canada" story once. I listened to a politically themed CBC show for an hour today and it didn't come up.

If that " true majority of Canadians" happens to live in Toronto around CBC headquarters, you may be right.

Who said anything about TV? I was referring to CBC radio.
