Default Wrangler's vs Aces

After years of procrastinating, I am finally going to my first ECHL game tonight to see the Wranger's take on the Aces - and I am looking forward to a new experience.

Who should I be watching for?

My advice is to watch the guys who are Flames property: Cracknell, Donally, Lalande, Seitsonen.

It was great value - $20 for center ice 10th row. Definitely a different venue and atmosphere for hockey.

Loved it when as they were announcing the Aces, after each name, the fans added a "sucks".

Only thing we wanted to see but did not, were some fights - my buddy figured it was the only ECHL game he would see without a single fight. I think there were only a few minor penalties called (the reffing was awful - the two ref system is definitely better, as is having a ref who can keep up to the play).

Not sure why it was the case, but neither team seemed to have as much energy as they might in a game that sounded like it was a rivalry.

In terms of players, Ferraro was okay - seemed to have the most polish of any of the players. Donally had the most 'presence' on the ice, but it looked like they were short d-men so he played the first half of the game on d. Aki S was okay, but did not really impress. There was a call up from a college team named Miller (81) that had a good game - lots of jump and had a ton of chances (looked like he need to put on some weight).

Anyway, it is something that I will consider doing again - and would recommend for anyone going down to Vegas.

You're right....they're very short on d-men. And we have one called up. That may have been part of the reason that there weren't any fights....they didn't have a player to spare for 5 minutes!!

That, and Donally is unable to fight.

I haven't been checking here as much as I should, but I am happy the Alaska game was pretty good for you. Yes, the referee was horrible, but I expected it when I saw who it was. Peter Ferraro seems to be in a little bit of a funk since his brother has been out. Aki turned it on Friday with the hat trick. Donally got in a fight Sunday, so his hand is a little better, and he said it felt fine after the game yesterday. We just lost another defenseman today, so we are down to 4 again, with one of them being a college kid. Overall, a pretty good performance against Alaska, well 2 out of 3 anyway.

Jeesh Madill is gone!! What is it with these guys taking people from our farm? Cole should be down this week.

I would assume Madill won't be gone long either. He was the 3rd guy signed to a PTO by Milwaukee this week. They must be decimated by injuries right now. One their roster they have like 10 d-men listed, so there is no real room for him. I hope he comes back soon, he is my 2-year old daughter's favorite.

Milwaukee is in dire straits since Rinne got the call up to nashville. Its hard to belive that a goalie will make that big of a difference but it does.

As I was telling my buddy while we were watching the Wrangerl game. If I lived in Vegas, I would have a set of seasons tickets to the Wrangler's - it was a tonne of fun, and the fans were definitely into it.
