"Great" bands you can't stand
Spawned from the Linkin Park thread. Which iconic/legendary bands or performers do you not dig or think are overrated? I'll list off mine to start:
- Van Halen
- Aerosmith
- Bon Jovi
-Ozzy/Sabbath

For me the first three. Add in ZZ Top if they are "legendary"

Forgot about them. I like Pearl Jam but I don't get a lot of the hype they receive.

Don't mind their stuff, but can't stand that a huge majority of people get all offended when you say you don't like their stuff.

The Tragically Hip used to be a favorite of mine and I've seen them live lots but they are so overplayed I can't stand them anymore.

Probably because all of those acts, with the possible exception of Zeppelin, had a profound (most would say revolutionary) impact on their genre and music in general.

Oh I think they did, but you could argue that they ripped off a lot of blues musicians and covered some of the same ground that The Who, Clapton, and others did. I think they're impact on music is/was massive, but I was playing devil's advocate.

Sure, I get that, but that doesn't mean I should like them and I get ragged on when I tell people that I don't.
But I like Michael Bay movies.

Yeah...some people are dicks. Honestly, if your comment is "I don't like it," then I don't see anything wrong with it. If you say something like "Led Zeppelin sucks!" then I could see why someone might jump down your throat.

I'd say U2. Everyone told me "The Joshua Tree" was so great. I gave it a try- and wasn't that impressed.

overplay sucks. I still love the Hip, but I definitely don't need to hear New Orleans or the other radio staples anymore.
