Default Weird moon tonight

For the astronomers out there.... I was just outside and saw this. I've never seen the moon look like this before. Very strange to see. What would cause it?

that's a supernova of our sun making the moon brighter. That means it's time to start doing a bunch of drugs and drinking because we have about 8 hours to live.

... also known as a moon dog.

EDIT: Oops, wrong name. It's not a moon dog. See here: http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/moonring/

I know it as a moon dog. The moon has to be pretty much full for us to see one (a necessary but not sufficient condition), so it's rarer than a sun dog.

Just another refraction trick like a sun dog or a rainbow.
