Anyone see these tonight? I was in Marda Loop at about 10:30 and the sky was just beautiful.
Any pictures taken?

Cool, what were the colours like? Just the standard green?

I also saw them at around 12-12:30 last night. They were incredible...for Calgary. You hardly see them here at all, but that was one of the best shows I've seen here!

nice. That's one of the very few things I miss about Fort McMurray. Wicked northern lights up there.

Was in Olds and outside last night around midnight they did look fantastic. They spanned over quite a distance in the skies...

Damn... Missed the show. Anyone here ever been up to the arctic? I was up in Inuvik and Tuk a few years ago. The northern lights were amazing. One night the sky looked like it had a curtain across it as though I was in an auditorium looking at a stage. Amazing stuff. I took some pictures with a cheap disposable camera that didn't turn out.

I've lived in Calgary my whole life and I've never seen the northern lights. What the fata is wrong with me?

What are the chances it happens again tonight? Or does it not work that way?

I've always thought they just kind of happen randomly. Dunno for sure though.

Last night was amazing though. I just about hit the ditch 5 or 6 times because I was looking out the window at them. The greens were so intense and flowing...I love the northern lights.

I never saw them in my time in Kalispell, though I hear that you can on occasion, even that far south. My wife used to see them in Houston, BC growing up...she says it was fairly rare though.

Hope I get to move back north again someday soon.

I got home from hockey late last night, so by all accounts, I missed the main show, but they were still visible at around 1am. I'm aware that my focus is off in a few of them, and for that, I apologize. I have a busted tri-pod I was trying to work with, couldn't see a damn thing... but oh well... here is a random selection of what I got last night. Again, not much, but meh.
