Anyone work in a Sports/Rec related profession?

Hi all,

Just curious if any CPers works in a Sports & Rec related profession for a living. I'm about to finish my first year of the Criminal Justice degree program at Mount Royal but am already losing interest in the field and am strongly eying a transfer to the Sports & Rec Business program. I am a complete sports fanatic. I spend my online time on sports sites/forums and 95% of my TV time is spent watching sports. Most of my close friendships have been developed through athletics in one form or another. Basically, sports has always been absolutely huge in my life and I can't see that ever really changing.

While I would love to pursue what interests me, I am also aware that certain industries just do not pay very well. I have heard lots of different stories from people in the field that range from "the pay is pretty good" to "you'll be be living in a box for the rest of your life" Obviously, I wouldn't be expecting to make a killing, but I also want to be able to live relatively comfortably.

So with that said, I put myself at the mercy of the CP community. Does anyone have any background or experiences within the Sports/Rec industry? This is a huge decision for me to make and I am extremely grateful for absolutely any advice/information people may have for me.

I graduated from the Sport and Rec Faculty at MRC and it was the best program I have taken. David Legg runs an awesome program there, and he has awesome contacts all around the country...go for it!
