Sharks win by scoring a lot of goals but again give up a couple more than I'm comfortable with. Top line didn't do much at all in this one and the 2nd line had to make up for it along with 2nd pairing Dman Ohlund who potted a couple and added an assist in a big game for himself as he also logged the most ice time at 28 minutes.
Following the game GM Ryan had this to say, "Although we've been getting a lot more wins lately, there's still something missing here and the time has come to try and address it. In my opinion there are still 2 or 3 holes in the lineup that need to be filled."
It's believed and has been talked about around the San Jose area that these so called "holes" he's talking about have nothing to do with donuts, cheap whores or the players' hot wives, but instead are directed at the defense, goaltending and possibly even his forward PK units, although the PK has been doing just fine lately having only given up 2 goals in their last 33 times being shorthanded over the course of the last 9 games. Given that, it's more likely goaltending and possibly another solid defensive defenseman are in the sights of the Sharks GM.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in any potential deal for the Sharks however is the fact they only have about $3 million left in cap space so it may be tough to find a proper fit.
Fellow GM's are encouraged to send us any offers that might address said positions and we will be doing the same if we see a proper fit.
