The longest current wining streak going into todays games comes to an end. Not sure what to expect next.

Quick Summary - as I'm real busy today.

Shananan/Zhamnov/Primeau dominate the game with three goals and 10 points. Brodeur save 29 of 31 shots. Newcomer Bryan McCabe chalks up a goal and two assists. Overall a solid effort. However, GM Beerfund was very reserved in his comliments. "This team should play like they did tonight. I have no doubt they are capable, however they haven't shown up some nights. I'll need to see consistant night in night out effort. Until then, I'll stay close to my phone and consider all offers."

Interesting games. Couple of big injuries.

Eric Lindros sidelined day-to-day (bruised heel)
Ilya Kovalchuk sidelined day-to-day (wrist injury)

Dissapointing to see Lapointe play under 30 minutes in his game. What happened?

But according to the game summary he played under 30 - is this a glitch or did he actually play the full 60?

I dont know what happened. No other centre played (as per my lines I sent in). Seems pretty weird. Man, with Kovalchuk going out in the first two minutes and only one centre the boys must have been tired. But, when you only face a pathetic 14 shots it aint too tough.

I think the SIM will automatically use other players if one guy is too fatigued. A couple weeks back I played the Canucks a day after Gagne was injured and I noticed Ethan Moreau was left wing on the top three lines, and on both PP and PK units. I went to check his ice time expecting it to be like 45 minutes and saw that it was only like 21. I'll dig up the link. I kind of suspected this may happen in Lapointes case. Maybe you need to find my old cloning machine I had last year when I successfully duplicated Stephen Valliquette and Jon Sim to make it work?

I'm not getting it as coming up having a link, but the game was on Thusday November 18, and is the second game down. If you look at the lines you'll see Moreau is left wing on all lines but the 2nd PK unit, and the 4th line.

Well I had to lose sometime. But that 6-2 score hurts. Gamestory to be ready for the web tomorrow.

Senators win big in Philly

4 Senators had big games.

Star Number 1 was Peter Bondra. after a bit of a slow start to the season Bondra has responded well as of late. He scored 2 times tonight and assisted on 2 others for a total of 4 points on the evening.

Star Number 2 Vaclav Varada. His first game back from injury and he makes up for lost time. Taking advantage of some rare 2nd line duty Varda also scored 2 goals and had 2 assits for a 4 point night. He now has 7 goals on the season.

Star Number 3 Daniel Alfredsson. Alfie scored his first Hat trick of the season to move into 2nd place on the team in Goals scored with 12

unoffical Star number 4 Sean Bates. Bates had 4 assists on the night and was a solid +4 as well. He now moves into 2nd place on the team in scoring moving past Havlat who was not dressed for this game.

Next up a game VS the Canucks. We cant take them lightly. We did that vs the Penquins and it cost us a victory.

SABRES LOSE CLOSE ONE TO CAPS
Coaching blunder doesn't help

The Buffalo Sabres lost a tight one goal affair to the Caps Tuesday night. The Sabres knew this was going to be a tough game missing their top all around player defenceman Scott Niedermayer. To replace Niedermayer the Sabres recalled rookie Dman J-M Liles. However in an embarassing turn of events, Sabres GM/Coach Looooob inserted Liles into the 3rd line RW position instead of 3rd line D...this left the Sabres blueline short staffed and their forward ranks in disarray.

"Did this contribute to the loss?" Looooob asked rhetorically "I don't think so. Look the Caps are an elite team, this is not a guaranteed win here. but I'll agree we didn't do ourselves any favours. But I"m not going to blame myself or Liles for the loss".

When asked how this could happen, Loooob refused to lay blame, although rumours have it the fact that his 3 year old son was on his lap screaming "I want to play teletubbies!!" the whole time Looooob was inputting his lines didn't help.

Positives for the Sabres were the solid play again of Regehr, Kim Johnsson, Sarich and Visnosky. Visnosky seriously outdueled Cory Cross a player he was traded for a week ago, although obviously Cross gets the last laugh. The Sabres PK was also solid, stoning the high octane Caps on 8 attempts.

It does appear that Scott Niedermayer will be back in time for tonights game versus Colorado.

Well before the game I was tallking with KevanGuy on MSN and I said, that Lapoint won't play over 30 minutes. That's just the way SIM works.

Late game report.

How can it be — Hawks fired season-low 14 shots at Tommy Salo, but he still ended up being first star?

No matter how weak Hawks offense will play – opponent’s goalie will make 1st star, that’s a certain bet.

It wasn’t only Claude Lapointe, but also ex-Bruin Martin Rucinsky, who was put out of his natural position by sim.

“According to +/-, Hawks had Wilson(4th line LW)-Rucinsky (2nd line RW)-Hall (3rd line RW) – Van Ryn (2nd pair D) – Richardson (3rd pair D) on the ice when Bruins scored their only ES goal. How the hell those 5 were on the ice together?”, said Hawks GM Pointman.

“There’s no whining as Hawks were surely outplayed, but there’s no doubt SIM is messing lines all over. And that cute Lapointe experiment proved that again. Good idea by Bruins GM. I still stick with my “Bruins for Cup” prediction”, commented Hawks GM.
