I don't know how many people have heard rumours or not, but I heard a rumour that Dominic Noel is one of the final 6 that "Makes The Cut"

Dominic Noel Makes The Cut?

Noel's "Making the Cut" Profile

Did anyone else hear this? Would love to see Calgary pick him up... Sutter seems to like Cape Breton boys, let me add another picture to my horrible signature

5 of them were in one game. And his skating sucks. Didn't surprise me he didn't make the final 18.

Like Keenan said, Luc Robitaille was never a strong skater either and he scored over 600 goals.

Why does Fortier scoring 5 of those goals in one game become a bad thing?

so where was he the rest of the time? They're looking for consistency. He had one great game. That's it.

What's with the beefcake photo in the player cards section? I thought they were competing for a chance to try out with an NHL team not to be a Chippendale dancer.

Exactly, consistency overshadows streakiness every time.

He scored 4 goals in the other games. That puts him as one of the goal leaders

He was one of the goal leaders because of that 5 goal game. He only scored 4 goals in the remaining eight games. Kind of a drop off considering he scored 5 goals in the first game, eh? As I said, consistency is more important.

So with your logic if he turned off his fire power that game after his second goal instead of going for 5, then he would've had 6 goals for the tournament, and since he didn't have a crazy 5 goal game (which for some reason, you think shows inconsistancy), that would've been more favourable for him?

Guys like Lucky Luke are rare exceptions. In general if you can't skate well you can't play in the NHL. Fortier's skating is well below average and he doesn't have the pure skill that Lucky Luc has to get by.

These scouts were trying to find the guys with the best chance at making the NHL - bad skating had to have been one of the first things they looked at.

Don't be a jackass.

If he had let up in the first game then he would have been written off earlier than he had been.

He rode that 5 goal game for a long time and it was what kept him from getting axed by the second episode.

He could have been capable of more during the two weeks but he showed he didn't have the heart to keep up the pace.

He showed the effect that being scouted can have on some players.

It was spark enough to elevate him for the first game but after it wore off it showed he didn't have the focus or mental determination to go all the way.
