Ha ha....Barret Jackman who's NHL career has him scoring 12 goals in 282 games...scores 3 goals today giving him 14 on the season. In his career Jackman has had season totals of 3, 1, 4, 3 & 1 so far this year. Silly silly SIM.

This just isn't funny anymore! I haven't iced my full lineup since mid-November, someone has always been on IR.

These next 2 days off better let some guys heal up (only to be injured by Bruins on Wednesday). 8 guys including my goalie are less than 100% I don't even know how we are clinging to a playoff spot???

The Oilers end their three-game losing streak with a solid 3-0 win over the Phoenix Coyotes. Backup netminder Patrick Lalime earned his first shutout of the season in his first start in quite some time (he was however named third star two games ago versus the Blues after stopping all 18 shots he faced in relief of Martin Brodeur).

Mike Grier continues his hot streak by notching two assists in the win, and shockingly Bryce Salvador led all Oilers with six shots on goal and managed to score the game-winning goal in the first period.

The Oilers now have three days to convalesce during which time it is hoped Roman Hamrlik and Ales Kotalik can get back to full health.

Sharks leapfrog the Desert Dogs and move into 6th overall in the Howe...nice! We now have a well earned three day break in which Malik will hopefully work hard at getting back in the lineup and recover from his injury.

After being nominated for POW, Kariya keeps playing strong scoring a hat trick but still doesn't earn 1st star of the game as Whitney managed to get an assist on 5 of the 6 goals we scored. Hossa pots a couple himself, racking up three more points on the night and pulls into 2nd in the league in goals scored.

Sharks are now 10-1-3 in their last 14 games and don't appear to be slowing down in the slightest. Unfortunately the next team to catch is the Kings who are chalk full of talent themselves so that won't be an easy task...we may have to settle for 6th or lower in the end but it's a lot more comfortable here than it was in 9th, 10th or 11th!
