Default Suggestions for how to blow Income Tax return

Well, did my rough taxes yesterday and I should be in line for a decent return. I'm not a rich guy like many on this site, so a return of $4 grand is nice to have.

Options include:

1.)Hookers and Blow
2.)Trip to Vegas
3.)Front Loading Washer and Dryer and pay down Secure L.O.C.
4.)Re-invest back into RRSP since market is in the dulldrums and good buying oppurtunities.

Yeah I'm married guess which option it will be... I'm also boring by nature and would probably pick choice #4 myself if I had my way. What other cool stuff will the CP populous blow their tax return on. Or will you be conventional and do what they tell you to with it.

Reinvest it because it really is your hard-earned money in the first place before you paid it as tax. Why do people always treat tax returns as free money?

Well if I observed that rule....I'll have to live to be about 90 and work full time every year until I have my own return to spend.

A bit of both. Re-invest 2000 or 3000, and buy yourself something nice with the rest!

Use $2000 to invest or on a washer/dryer and $2000 for a trip!

Just booked a trip to Peru for 2 weeks (can't believe the wife is letting me go).

That will take up some of the refund.

I'm spending my bonus money on going to Bonnaroo and I'm not sure what I'm doing with my tax refund. Probably buy a guitar and take some lessons.

You're right of course.

However, it almost feels like found money, since its money that was taken away and no longer budgetted for. Now, there's a bunch coming back.

For me, I'll probably buy a new TV and invest the rest.

Just because the government is giving it back to you rather than spending it with what they deem is the most appropriate thing to do with the money is no reason to not invest the money in the same thing the government would have if you didn't get it back.

That investment would have been to give a handout to the people in the East so they can afford to move out West.

I just so happen to be in the East, so to make things easier you can buy me a plane ticket on Yellowhead Travel.com (even though Sample00 is on his way out the door there) from Sydney NS to Calgary AB.

With what's left over a ticket to a Flames game and some Herion beers would be nice.

Thanks man

Your Pal,

~ MQS

(and to think this is what your tax money would have went toward anyway!)

Did that last year, and saved a tonne of money on the labour by getting my father in law who is a retired general contractor to help me do it myself!!!

Although....come to think of it....a hitman to help me get at my inheritance from the inlaws.....thats an idea..
