Default Apple: Let's Rock! (Media Event Thread)

Here's a quick rundown of possible announcements:

http://www.macrumors.com

The media event is happening this morning. One of the possibilities is the iPhone 2.1 firmware. I can only hope!

Anyhoo, feel free to post any updates, thoughts, speculations, reactions, etc. Think of it like a Game Thread for the event itself.

(Man, will this offseason EVER end?)

No doubt! One of these days I hope to actually post something about the flames on this flames-themed message board. My signature is the only Flames related thing I've done in months.

Looking forward to the event today. I'm with you ... really hoping for something cool for the iphone. I also wouldn't mind seeing something happen to the current fleet of touches.

Just patch the friggin things so I can try the unlock again. I've been stuck in limbo for a couple weeks now. Plus 2.0.2 has been more freezy buggy than prior releases..

I've found 2.0.2 to be more buggy as well. For the last 3 or 4 days I have a constant empty space on my 2nd page of apps. If you try to move one over, a different one is forced to the third page leaving me a space that won't fill. Very minor but it's driving me up the wall.

i was kind of hoping to see a macbook and macbook pro announcement. Looks like it wont happen today though.

Just as a side note.. are other people getting a little tired of these "mac events".
Sure, it's great to announce new products and stuff, but do you really need a freaking keynote to announce that an iPod is getting more storage?

Leave the keynotes to big things (new products), sending out a press release for "updates" is good enough.
Maybe Steve Jobs just enjoys the frenzy he causes every time he breathes. Crazy mac fan boys...

I haven't been a mac fanboy for long enough to tire of them. Frankly I often wonder if these keynotes are designed to announce to the share holders than Jobs hasn't kicked the bucket yet.

Yeah, I hear that. Being only a recent Mac convert, this stuff is all still new and exciting for me.

...and it looks like the event is up, since Mac Rumors is down.

Jobs loves to feed his massive, massive, MASSIVE ego.. hence these silly presentations.

touches look not bad either. Nike+ support built in is pretty neat if running is your thing. other upgrades seem pretty standard.

iPhone 2.1 software comes out Friday. Says it's faster loading times, fewer dropped calls, less crashes, less time to sync. Thank you.
