xbox 360 red ring

hey guys, i was wondering if any of you guys have called into microsoft after your warranty with your xbox screwing up (the red ring), my warranty has been up for quite some time yet, and now i'm considering if i should even call in, and if i do does anyone know what kind of price they might charge for this?

The warranty for the 3 light red ring of death was extended to 3 years, so give them a call it should still be under that warranty.

Otherwise I think it's $125 to fix it (regardless of the problem), I remember reading that somewhere.

Welcome to the club. If you have a 360 purchased before last summer or so, it's a matter of when -- not if -- your unit will fail with the Red Ring of Death. They really should make getting the RROD an achievement. :P

Fortunately, MS has done the right thing and extended the warranty to three years for units that die from the RROD (all other failures still only have a 1-year warranty, but they're far less common). It took about three weeks for me to have a working unit back in my hands after I called MS to report my RROD.
