The Grammys
So was I the only person that really enjoyed them tonight? Yes the Foo Fighters didn't win the album of the year, however I can look past that.
There was no cheesy banter but performance after performance after performance. So good!
What did you guys think? Did you even watch?

Yea... It was actually pretty good. Kanye gave it to the Grammys when he wanted to talk about his mom and they kept playing the music. But then, Vince Gill had some fun with him later on in the show. Beyonce and Tina Turner ripped it too. Amy Wino's reaction after "Record of the Year" was classic.

I did not watch. I hate award shows. All of them.
Hollywood really needs another celebratory event regarding their own awesomeness?

recorded it in HD then ffwd'd to see the performances. Kanye's performance was amazing and then when daft punk came out of the pyramid I lost my mind. I was hoping something was brewing as soon as I saw the pyramid lurking in the back, I'm glad they didn't disappoint.

caught 15-20 minutes and nearly puked.
Winehouse is pathetic live and an embarrassment to society, and other than the Foo Fighters every act pretty much blew corn out of their arse. Kanye West? Seriously? The guy is a horrible singer and saves his ass with over the top dramatics.
Cant think of an awards show that has blown past its prime worse than the Grammys...except maybe the Academy Awards.

The "Amy Winehouse Blank Stare Moment" will be a classic in Grammy history.
Total Space Cadet. Amazing.
Loved the Alicia Keys/Frank Sinatra opening.

Quit watching after the Kayne ego extravaganza. Using the death of your mother to extend your time in the spotlight, especially on national TV is disgusting.
Despite all his talent, Kayne does nothing but irritate the hell out of me.
The Foo Fighters were awesome though.

Does anyone have a bigger ego than Kayne? I'd love to punch him.

I love the guy's music, but Kanye's extension of his speech is just a continual reminder that he is a popmus ass.
The Foo Fighters performance was great! I missed most of the other one's, but I did enjoy the Beatles tribute.

I prefer the Grammys over any other music awards program, because it's about the music, not a popularity contest or about the Video's!!! I could give a S#!* about a music video, I care about the music being produced. The Grammy's are about the recording industry which is still very relevant no matter how much fighting over rights has tarnished the academy, because everyone listens to music.

It was a good night, watching the Grammys and the Foo Fighters concert on HDNet.
Good stuff.

The Dion?
Seriously though, I barely watched the Grammys. Turned it on for about 5 minutes and continued watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

That's what a DVR is for . . . . . I watched the Grammy's in about half an hour.
Very exciting when you can eliminate Foo Fighters, country music (which I like most days of the week), Kanye, most speeches, classical music, yada, yada, yada . . . . the opera thing was pretty good surprisingly.

The Josh Groban/Andrea Bocelli duet was my favourite part of the show. He has done that song with Charlotte Church in the past, so it was nice to see him with a master like Bocelli. Just outstanding.

Opposite for me compared with most posts thus far...
Foo Fighter performance? Barf.
Kanye's performance with Daft Punk was great. Kanye, in general, is a great performer and deserved all the awards he received.
Definitely a huge ego maniac though... and I agree, is kind of annoying.
Best performance of the night in my opinion? The Alicia Keys duet with Frank Sinatra... but then again I might be biased because it was Sinatra.

The Brad Paisley performance was refreshing though. I'm not a huge listener of country but the parody and cheekiness of his song was nearly a slap to the face of all the arrogant pop/rap artists there.
I was surprised by Fergie's performance with John Legend. She's got some skill performing live. Would never have guessed given nearly all of her studio work is over compressed and thrown through every pitch shifter on the planet.

I've given up watching any awards shows, although I would have liked to see some of the performances. There is always Youtube.
