Woof!
Whoo Hooo! We'll take a 3-3 tie with the dilapidated lineup we iced.
35 saves out of 38 shots for Toskala on way to being the games first star. Sakic's shorthanded goal would have been the winner except Duck Lombardi's speed lead to the tieing goal half way through the 3rd period.
Having tomorrow off is a VERY welcome break. Where are the team masseuses we need some magic hands!

Ward playing a lot better of late stopping 33 of the 34 shots he faced, this time against the Wings.
Isles play tommorow against the Rangers in the battle of New York.

In an important game the Flyers decide to pull a no show.
Lead by goalie Dominic Hasek and helped by Selanne, Bieksa and Nylander the Flyers watched as the Oilers scored 6 goals without a single response from the hapless Flyers. Some kudos go out to the third and fourth lines who managed to stay even for the game. And special mention to Fredrik Norrena for the one save he was able to make after facing a whopping 2 shots!
The Flyers find themselves out of the play-offs and with the way the team has been playing it appears they will stay there. They will take a day off before preparing to lose to some more Western conference teams facing the Kings and Blues on back-to-back nights.

Ducks peppered a depleted Yotes lineup but Toskala stood on his head, got 1st star and a tie for the Yotes. Regardless the Ducks are unbeaten in two, parade time!!!

Edmonton Oiler Mike Grier loves playing against the Philadelphia Flyers. In sweeping the home-and-home with the Flyers with a convincing 6-0 win in Edmonton, the grinder scored two goals in less than 30 seconds against two different Flyer goalies. In the two games Grier mustered 4 shots and was rewarded with 3 goals, 2 assists, and a +4 rating; today he earned a first-star nomination to compliment his second-star nomination from yesterday.
The win also marks Martin Brodeur's second shutout in the past three games. Brodeur is starting to look like a clear favourite in the Vernon race... again.
In Zetterberg's return to action, the Swedish star was held pointless, as were the other big guns of Iginla, Alfredsson, and Gagne. Only Vincent Lecavalier found the shoresheet, with a shorthanded tally while Daniel Alfredsson was in the box contemplating the pros and cons of head-butting. Luckily the blueline was willing to step up on the offence, with Rivet, Rachunek, and Barker all scoring in the first period. It was Cam Barker's first ever CPHL goal.
The Oilers find themselves atop both the CPHL and AHL Howe Conference standings, and will have a few days off to heal before facing the Sharks in San Jose.

7 games now without a win, same lineup that was red hot has gone into the toilet. No injuries to blame on this mess.
Bates was the first one to go (off to Detroit). If anybody wants Laraque, PM or MSN me.

Wow, Devils win a second in a row, and manage not to get any more injuries piled on! Power Play continues to be red hot, going 1 for 2 in the game after a 3 for 4 in the previous one. Budaj seems to have been the difference as the Devils were actually outshot but managed the come-from-behind victory.

Love the W, but a little concerned with our defensive play of late. Pretty even game throughout, 37 shots a side, and both starting goalies pulled after only stopping 24 of the first 29.
Hossa got the move up to the top line alongside Sedin and Cheechoo for the first time since acquiring Cheech and he responded! Scored a hat trick including the game winner with less than a minute to go as that line dominated the opposition for a combined 10 pts between the 3 of them.
Sharks will now enjoy a 3 day rest, although not needed, before facing the high powered Oilers. Should make for a good game if our D can play up to expectations.

Tough loss in a close game with the Sharks. Having to play Ilya against a high scoring offense like the Sharks is never a good scenario, I maybe should have planned that better.
We now have nearly everyone back to 100% healthy, so hopefully this is just a blip in the radar. We still have an outside chance to make the playoffs, and I'm willing to add the right pieces to make it happen. If anyone has any players they are looking to unload, feel free to let me know.

WOW, hurricanes really got schooled by the Devils. Even though was only 3-1 favouring the Devils and the shots were really not far off from each otherthe Hurricanes really looked like the didn't show up for the game. After being given numerous opportunity's with PP chances, the Canes failed to put the bisket in the basket
Really seem to be on a win one, lose one pace... oh well it's .500 hockey, just need to find a way to turn up the heater and get Dany scoring some goals

I'll be happy with a win we didn't deserve. Outshot 35-21 and winning 6-5 is a not so pretty result in the good way. Three strait games of being outshot, but this luckily breaks our 3 game skid. Panthers might be looking to make some changes on the defensive end, or at least change defensive partners. Holmqvist played solid saving 27 saves out of 32 shots. It was costly as both Brad Richards and Mike Johnson got injured (DD for both). Fernandez and Corvo are still not 100%, making it like 5 games now where they have gone up only 1 or 2 points from 97 condition.

Unacceptable performance today. When you play a bottom feeder like the Islanders there is really no excuse for not skating away with the two points. Still the tie keeps Detroit within 2 points of 7th place.

Big win for the Pens as Nabby looks sharp in his debut. Kostisyn was brilliant again with 2 goals in just 7mins of ice time. The Pens moved into 7th spot just 2 points out of 5th and 1 point out of 6th but are only 2 points up on 9th. The Pens have a day off tomorrow before they return home against the Canucks.

Preds take a close one against the Lightning tonight. We were outshot, and Lehtonen makes his debut following much critical "acclaim" here in music city.
Solid play again from Klesla as he continues to contribute offensively on the Preds blue line.

Leafs beat Stars 4-2.
Thank god, we really needed to get a win here. We were outshot 35-24 so I can't say we really played that much better, but Lundqvist was great and we pulled out 2 points. Goals from Marleau (2), Langkow, and Horton.
