Default Regular vs. goofy stances?
K so a co-worker and I have been having a discussion about snowboard stance (or surfing, skateboarding, whatever) and are trying to figure out whether there is any correlation between your dominant hand/foot/eye and your stance. I'm telling her that there likely isn't, but I can't say 100%. For instance:

Her:
Hand: Right
Foot: Right
Eye: Right
Stance: Goofy

Me:
Hand: Left
Foot: Left
Eye: Right
Stance: Regular

Just curious what your dominant hand/foot/eye is and what your stance is...and if you know if there's any correlation at all between them or not.

I also bat and golf left, even though I am right handed. I think it's because my left eye is extremely weak. My right eye has about 20/15 vision whereas my left is a terrible 20/200.

I know a guy that's right handed, shoots left, golfs right and is goofy.

He bats for the other team too, but that's a whole different story ain't it Rob?

Me:
Right Handed.
Shoot left handed hockey.
Bat left, throw right.
Shoot right handed golf.
Regular Stance (snoboarding, skating etc).

I'm a bit of an oddity, I do everything right handed, but when it comes to goofy/regular stance I'm a little odd.
For example

Snowboarding/Wakeboarding: Regular

Water skiing/Skateboarding: Goofy

It must have something to do with wheter your foot is pointed parallel or perpendicular to your direction of travel, but it's still a little odd.

I waterski right foot forward, but snowboard regular.

Everything else is Right, except I can't remember how to tell what eye is dominant. I tried looking at stuff and covering each eye to see if the object moves, and apparently I'm boy eye dominant by that test.

I'm left handed/footed in absolutely everything, save hockey. Somehow I ended up as a right hand shot.

Not sure how that would translate into my stance, as I'm not a snowboarder at all.

I think the easiest way to tell if your left or right eye dominant is to take a small object like a pen or pencil, hold it at arm's length, and then move it closer to your eye until the view diverges. You can tell which eye is actually focusing on the object from that point.

Baseball: Left

I know that there is a correlation between Nationality/Baseball batting stance/handedness - apparently Right handed Americans have a 70% chance to bat right handed, and a 30% chance to bat left handed. For Canadians, those odds are reversed, with a 70% chance to bat left handed and 30% chance to bat right handed.

Hence why most of the Canadian baseball team bats left!

Most Left handers bat left though.
