Default Dehumidifiers?

How well do these things work?

I'm flying up North on Friday for work, need to retrieve some equiment from a site that was broken into. I guess there is snow everywhere that is starting to melt inside and it's very wet. Small building about 12' x 8'.

How fast will a 8L resevoir fill up if the room is very wet? Never used these before, just wondering if it's worth buying a unit to bring up for the trip.

Thanks

In Thunder Bay during the summer (about 70% humidity), we were emptying it every day. Hope this helps?

Here in Alberta, you might as well just open the window to dry it out

I have to agree. Open some windows and run some fans.

Dehumidifiers will remove moisture from the air, when there is no other way to get the moisture out. You are looking at RH now of around 40% outside, meaning the same air at room temperature will have a RH closer to 25%.

I had to use one last summer, it was really humid in our basement.
The doors expanded and we couldnt close them properly!

That's what I was wondering, how long it would take to fill up. 48 hours or so and it would be useless for me. Sounds like it won't be a waste of money, thanks!

By the way, it won't be used here in AB. Like I mentioned in the original post I'm flying up North for work. Rankin Inlet actually.
