Default PC for Sale: $500 - Hardly used, less than a month old.

I built this as a home media server less than a month ago. It has an HDMI port, as well as DVI and VGA – it also has 6 external USB ports, Firewire and eSATA. Gigabit LAN, etc. It is fully useable right now as a media server, but it would also make a pretty sweet gaming computer with the addition of a 3D graphics card.

Note: Operating system not included. I'd recommend a 64bit OS in order to take full advantage of the 4GB of RAM. There are tons of 64bit Linux versions out there (I ran Fedora Core 7 and 8 on this computer) that are all (legally!) free to download and install - otherwise, you can get a 64bit copy of Windows Vista for about $120.00.

Specs
  • 100% Aluminum Black MicroATX Case with top and side see-through panels and removable motherboard tray and 420W power supply
  • ASUS Motherboard with HD Audio, Gigabit Lan, Firewire, PCI-E x16, 1 x HDMI, 1 x DVI-HDCP, 1 x VGA, 4 x 3GB/s SATA II, 1 x 3GB/s eSATA and built-in hardware RAID
  • AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.3Ghz Processor
  • 4GB Mushkin PC6400, DDR2 800Mhz RAM
  • 2 x 160GB 7200 RPM Hard Drives (320GB total)
  • 1 x 20x Samsung Dual Layer DVD Burner (SATA)
  • 1 x 20x LG Dual Layer DVD Burner (IDE)
  • Combo floppy drive with 18-in-1 memory card reader (compact flash, SD, micro SD, MS Pro Duo, etc etc)

I paid $720.00 for the parts. My fridge died on the weekend, though, so I’m in a bit of a cash crunch.

First person to offer $500.00 gets to take it home. Comes with all of the driver disks and odds and ends (spare cables etc).

Here's some pictures of the case. These aren't pictures of my exact computer, but they are pictures of my exact case. Mine is exactly like this, but with 2 DVD burners and the memory card reader (and the inside looks different w/o a video card).

What's the model of the MB?

I'm looking at building something similar, but was going to get an AM2+ MB with an AM2 CPU until the AM2+ CPU's are better and less pricey.

Thanks

It's the M2A-VM HDMI. It doesn't support AM2+, only AM2.

I have 4 people that are interested so far. I can add you to the list, if you'd like. I haven't contacted anyone yet, but I'll be starting with the first person that PM'd me.

Two burners, one SATA and one IDE. An IDE install drive is important to have for a lot of reasons.
