Good Thai Restaurants
I need some suggestions, preferrably in the SW or downtown area.

i can't remember the name of this place, but I was just there about a month ago for a birthday dinner. It's located at Macleod and 73rd Ave SW, on the northbound side of Macleod. It's in the strip mall across from Tower Chrysler.

Nice restaurant. Althought unless things have changed in the four months since I have lived in Cgy, its across from a Safeway. It's on 8th St. and 11th ave I believe.

Ruan Thai is awesome. I've been to every place in this thread (except the far South one) and I think that's the winner for me.

I don't remember the name either but I've been there a few times for both lunch and dinner and it's always good. Nice, freindly staff as well. Just down the strip mall from what used to be outlaws right?

Nope you're right, I always get mixed up with the Co-Op that is a couple blocks west.

Not where you are looking but, if anyone is in the north there is a hidden gem.
Just off 16th ave NE and 19th St, in the Best Western hotel there is a place called "The Thai Place". Best Thai food ever! It is very intimate as well.

My personal favorite. Chili Club would be next.
I wasn't really impressed with "The King & I". Might have to go back and try somehthing else off the menu.

Chili Club on 17th ave and about 35th street SW. Amazing food, but a bit expensive for the ammount you get.
I suggest an extra $2 Coconut Rice or two..

The King & I is barely Thai food in my opinion. Although it is not like most of the Chinese food in the city is actually Chinese food either, for example.
Some of the other choices listed are decent and far more close to the real thing, although none are as good as the real real thing unfortunately.

I was just at the Rose Garden for lunch today and it was great! They're menu food at night is better, though.

I'll second that. Been there a few times, all at night, and found it to be really good.

For sure!
I am a huge fan of thai food and have tried many Thai restaurants in Calgary. This is by far the best one I have been to.

if you are just looking for something tasty and cheap, without the ambiance, Spicy Hut is very good. I think it's on 4th St NE, just north of Memorial.
'King and I' is the best imo

I second this place. I also have no idea what the name is, but the food is great and the staff were very friendly every time we've gone!
