Default 90-92 Toyota Truck

Hey guys,

I would like to buy a 90-92 Toyota truck. Been talking with a few people, but I don't know much about vehicles. Are there any tips I should be on the look out for, specific to Toyotas in that timeframe?

Cheers.

Looking for advice on the truck here, not the truck itself.

Good trucks but you'll have trouble finding one thats not rusting pretty bad.. They have bullet proof mechanicals though a tad gutless for my tastes..

I was looking for one of those a few years back as well.
Extended cab v6 4x4.

Here's what I learned.

If you can find one that doesn't have a rusty box go for it.

The V6 engines had a recall for the head gasket that may still be covered.

Some toyota dealers (if you ask em nicely) will run the vin and tell you if it was done or not. Sometimes they will give you the last recorded km in their system as well. Nice way to see if the odo has been rolled back or not.

That being said those engines were gutless but bulletproof.

Don't be surprised to see em for sale with 250 - 300k km on them.

At those km's they will still go for 8 - 10 K.

People who have em love em and don't want to give em up.

If you are into upgrades I hear the Chev 350 small block fits perfectly into the motor mounts and between the frame.

Adapters are available to mate it to your existing drivetrain.

Good Luck with your search.
