Cell Phone / MIKE Question

So, the LCD of my phone is broken, and I'm told that I might as well get a new phone. So, I'm looking at some used ones on ebay. I like this one, but am not sure about it. Firstly, it says MIKE. IIRC, you have to have a MIKE account for this to work?

I want to make regular calls, not walkie talkie calls. Will this phone do that if I have just a regular Telus account?

No, but you can likely migrate over to the Mike system fairly hassle free. However, you'll end up with Mike coverage... not nearly as good in most of Canada outside Alberta.
