Published: March 17, 2008

From onstage last night (March 16th) at a packed Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson announced a series of arena shows in Western Canada for their eagerly anticipated "SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME -- WORLD TOUR 08". Tickets for all these shows will go on sale to the public Friday 28th March. A special pre-sale will be made available exclusively to members of the Iron Maiden fan club, for three days prior, commencing Tuesday 25th March. All shows are staging a special 'First to the Stage Barrier' privileged early admission for members of the Iron Maiden Fan club through an exclusive draw.

Thu 05 June - Saddledome Calgary, AB
Fri 06 June - Rexall Place Edmonton, AB

It's basically an oldies/goodies show. They have the set from Powerslave (all that Egyptian stuff) and rehash other stuff from 20 years ago.

I will buy myself a ticket for this event.

Incredible news.

Hopefully the Flames have a presale for season ticket holders instead of the usual crappy bands they have presales for.

Killer announcement.

Hopefully the show doesn't go too late in the evening though cause I have a fear of the dark.

That's awesome. I have a Piece of Mind bobblehead.

Just imagine all the merchandise they'll be shilling at the show. Iron Maiden baby strollers, Iron Maiden soccer balls, Iron Maiden dinnerware.

The people that made Maiden rich in the first place now all have jobs and don't spend their money on weed. They'll make a fortune on this crap.

Took 'em long enough though. KISS figured out this whole nostalgia thing 10 years ago.

I need to learn more about classic rock. I heard of them before, but the first time I connected the band to one of their songs was when I played Rockband this weekend

Great news, I definately want to get some tickets! What do you guys think about joining the fan club for about $20 to get in on the pre-sale? Is it worth it or will there still be lots to choose from come Friday the 28th?

I just emailed my buddy - I knew he would have gone to the show.

I asked how the show was and his exact words were, "killer bud ... AMAZING setlist and Bruce sounded better than ever!!"

Or perhaps some CPer who is already in the fan club could tell us all the code?

Edit: Woah. According to ticketmaster the most expensive tickets are only $69.50!

No dice.
For the Iron Maiden fan club they're issuing each member their own one time use code good for up to 4 tickets. The CJay code for the presale after the fan club sale though? Good to go.

Maybe Bruce sounded so good because of the killer bud?
