I think about this every time I see the Christian "healers" on tv. There was a special on cbc that followed people who visited a show, it was actually really sad. They also had an interview with a former security guard who explained all the crap they pull. It was disgusting.

Yeah there was one by CBC on Benny Hinn, it was pretty brutal. I actually went to one of Hinn's things at the 'Dome once, what a terrible experience.

What gets me about these guys is no one ever takes them to task. People have DIED at Benny Hinn meetings; babies that have been taken from the hospital to take to the meeting to get healed, and die during the meeting.

Hinn claims great miracles have been done, yet no one can ever come up with real evidence of one. He said once that if anyone wanted they just had to ask and they would provide real evidence.. one watchdog organization (a Christian organization!) asked for some, they got 3 examples that were weaker than wet tissue paper.

He's claimed people have been raised from the dead! That should be easy to prove.

I saw it myself where people with supposed problems were put into wheelchairs (I guess to exaggerate their problems) and then of course get out of them. No one with a an actual visible problem is ever allowed on stage.

Sorry, I get upset when I think about babies taken from real care to be healed and then die because of it.

There's stories all the time about Chistian con-men. The key to pulling off such a crime is to con people of a tight-knit/iscolated religious community where they practice a fundamental version of that particular religion. That way these people are already predisposed to not accepting anything but their own scripture to the word and very untrusting of those of other beliefs. If someone can build credability within such a community he can con them mercelessly. Afterall, bible/Koran/Torrah thumpers are too busy with their prejudices of outsiders to properly question those among themselves. Many of these people only think in black and white, along the lines of 'good guys' (Themselves) and 'bad guys'(everyone else). Properly convince them that you are a 'Good Guy' and they'll trust you with their life savings. They only trust members of their own community for all the wrong reasons. It's exploiting tribalism.

By my calculations, that'll only get you 7.4M in lotto money. That's a lot, but you could've done better. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, you should've taken advantage of it.
