Default Clintons tears: tender moment or calculated

Quote:
Yesterday morning, at a café in Portsmouth with 16 undecided, mostly female, voters, Clinton took a softball question and scored at least one new voter. She was asked, ``How do you keep so upbeat and wonderful?'' Clinton first went into robo-call mode, then joked about how hard it is not to be caught on a bad hair day, and then got tears in her eyes.
The election wasn't a ``game'' but very ``personal,'' and she couldn't keep at it if she ``didn't passionately believe'' it was the right thing to do for our kids' futures. ``It's really about all of us together.''
One woman who'd been leaning toward Obama before Clinton got misty eyed, said her emotion ``was the clincher.'' She's back with Clinton.
It occasionally works with speeding tickets. Her wet eyes made headlines with less than 24 hours to go before the polls open. You can hear Penn writing up one of his micromanaging memos, this one titled ``Cry Me a River'' all the way to Feb. 5.

Obama is surging and she can feel it slipping away. Her greatest downfall is that she is not at all personable like her husband. People don't like her.

I think she's done.

I'd take Hillary in a heartbeat over any of the Republicans, but then I'd happily take a bag of glue for POTUS instead of a Republican. In my heart though, I like Obama. I think a young, excited, worldly leader is exactly what the US - and the world - needs.

Hillary's technician must've patched her firmware with the "I know now why you cry" program from Terminator 2.

I think now is the time the US NEEDS a black leader. And having one with a name like Obama, wherever it's origins, shows the world that the US aren't prejudiced. From a world politics perspective, it would be a fantastic move by Americans. They need a female in there right away too. Women make great leaders, too. I wouldn't even mind Hillary that much. I hate to say it, but it's time for the old white men to get out of US office, whether they're the best candidate or not. The US, and it's very precarious situation on the world stage need to show the world that it's not all about the rich white man. Sorry if that sounds bad, but it's true. Heck, if Canada had a decent prospect they should think about it too. It does have to be the right person though, in either case.

I actually think it was genuine, I think the fatigue and stress got to her and she cracked.Nevertheless Clinton is not a President the country can rally around- Obama is.

He could go into the Arab world and use his actual full name.
Barack Hussein Obama

Obama is Kenyan I believe but his middle name is Arabic.

Not to mention the immediate cred that would arise from having a leader who was raised Muslim. If you're engaged in conflict with someone would you rather have a leader who understands where they are coming from and what they believe, or a guy who looks into people's eyes so he can see their soul?

That's exactly it. He's Kenyan so he knows all about civil war. He's a smart man. He would do the world proud, I think. If for no other reason than the fact that he's the best Muslim US candidate around, he should be voted in. That would be the smart thing to do.... but are Americans that smart? Hillary would be the second best choice as far as message to the world goes, but we'll have to wait and see.

He was born in the US. You can't be President if you weren't.

His mother is from Kansas.

Do you know enough about each of the Republican candidates to make that statement or do you just have a prejudice?

he never lived in Kenya

Quote:

Born in Honolulu to a Kenyan father and an American mother, Obama grew up in culturally diverse surroundings. He lived most of his early life in Hawaii, and spent four of his pre-teen years in Jakarta, Indonesia. A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School,
Quote:
In the memoir, Obama describes his experiences growing up in his mother's American middle class family. His knowledge about his African father, who returned once for a brief visit in 1971, came mainly through family stories and photographs.[13] Of his early childhood, Obama writes: "That my father looked nothing like the people around me—that he was black as pitch, my mother white as milk—barely registered in my mind."[22] The book describes his struggles as a young adult to reconcile social perceptions of his multiracial heritage.[23] He wrote that he used alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine during his teenage years to "push questions of who I was out of my mind".[24

I find the republicans to be very petty and somewhat prejuidical esp against gays- I would never support them fro that reason alone. to not allow someone to serve in the army on the basis of sexual orientation is wrong. Even Huckabee who seems to be a nice guy, does not come across as confident.McCain is riding his experience for the military, he again I dont think recognizes the economic crisis at hand
