Moss said allegations are false.

New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss has been with a restraining order after allegedly seriously inurying a woman in Broward County, Fla., WDBO reported Wednesday.
Moss denied the accuations at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, saying he's “never laid a hand on a woman in 30 years,” the Boston Herald reported.

Washington claims the two have been in an “intimate relationship since 1997.” She also claims in the papers that Moss has guns and has “a drug or alcohol problem.”

In the wake of a report that he had a temporary restraining order filed against him in Florida, Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss today denied any wrongdoing, calling the allegations "false" and accusing his accuser of trying to get money out of him and "distract the team".
"All I know is that it's a friend of mine, a young lady, it was an accident where she hurt herself, to where they called me, called my attorneys, trying to get X amount of dollars out of me, and if 'we don't get X amount of dollars' they were going to go to the press before this game.

Its allways interesting when things like this are reported before big games. Who leaks the story? Who is behind it? A story leaked about Len Dawson being involved in a gambling ring the week before Super Bowl IV.

The person following up on their blackmail threat would be my guess. They've got to have something or they risk being arrested for making an untrue statement (or whatever the actual description is) but whether what happened is anything more than trivial is for the police to figure out.
I'm no Moss fan, but things like this stink.
On the plus side for the Patriots, this is exactly the type of thing they seem to use to "circle the wagons" and really motivate their team play.

The timing of the release of this info practically screams "blackmail".
Guess it is best to let the courts decide the truth of the matter.

Randy did the smart thing by publicizing everything he knows about the situation. I believe him.

Same Dis. His statements seemed pretty believable given the timing of this incident.

Yes, I think Moss owes Bill too much to risk letting him down.

I watched his locker room press conference or whatever the hell that was yesterday, I completely believe him. He seems genuinly p***** off about all this. He also sounded thoroughly disgusted with his so-called "friend" who's doing this to him. Its amazing what some people will do for money.

I hate Moss as much as anyone and him going to the Pats did not do anything to change that, but this seems awfully fishy from the accusers side of the story. I tend to believe Moss here.
But given his actions in the past and the numerous times that athletes have shown us in the past that they can do the dumbest things at the worst times, I would also not be surprised to find out that it is true. There have been too many guys that have done stupid things at the absolute worst times for this incident to end up being a shock if true.
