Bif Naked has cancer
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...80106.wbif0106
She is 36, non smoker, on a raw food only diet, and in great shape...tough pill to swallow for someone who made an effort to live a healthy life, just goes to show what really is behind why these things happen...your genes..sometimes there is nothing you can do...
Edit: Shame on me...all the best in her recovery..love or hate her music, she is certainly a dynamic character on the canadian music scene, very refreshing.

All of those things will probably give her an advantage in recovery that many other women don't have.

I saw her at the Kokanee Summit a few years back. She absolutely rocked. Prior to that I didn't care for her music. I guess I still don't. Cancer sucks.

I was just about to post this in that other celebrity thread as someone mentioned her. Anyways, hope she fights through and beats it.

Cancer does suck! Lost my favourite uncle over the holiday season.
Hopefully she can beat this.

Thats rough.
A healthy lifestyle can reduce the odds, but I guess not all the way to zero.
Good luck Bif

Breast cancer has a very large genetic component. I was not a fan of her music, but I hope she gets better. Breast cancer is an awful thing. My GFs mother just had her breast removed a couple months ago. Horrible thing for anyone to go through.

Met her in person. Amazing tallent, and a heart warming woman to be around. Horrible news, regardless if it's treatable or not.

She seems to be in rather high spirits so that will also help her through the treatments, I am sure. I hope everything works out for her.

I didn't buy any of her recent albums, but I was a fan when she released the self titled. Russ Klyne of Salvador Dream wrote some of that record and played on it, a few of you might remember Salvador Dream, incredible band.
Anyways, she seems like a decent woman, not to mention great looking and in amazing shape. Hope she can fight it off.

I've been a Bif Naked fan for years so I feel for her, but I can't help but feel good about my heavy-smoking, all-fried food, no-exercise, fake n' bake lifestyle now. I'm safe forever!

Heard her on the Strombo show (not sure if anyone carries George Strombolopolous' show on the radiola out west) on Sunday. She seemed very upbeat. I saw her back in '95 when she first came out at a dive here in London called Call the Office. Very good performer, even if you're not a huge fan of her music.
Best of luck to her.

She is upbeat and a good attitude will help her. it will not be an easy battle. Her form of cancer is one of the more aggressive ones and she is stage 2, it has spread to some lymph nodes under an arm as well. Anyhow, good luck to her.
