Forward: Rod Brind'Amour: 6 goals, 11 assists, 17 points, 3 1st stars, 3 2nd stars. Moved into 2nd place in the scoring race with 58 points. Averages 21 minutes a night and is used in all 3 situations (5 on 5, PP, and PK).
Defense: Darryl Sydor: 3 goals, 7 assists, 10 points. +1. Averages over 20 minutes a night and had to play 25+ some nights as Blake, Staios, Hatcher, Stuart all went down with injuries.
Unsung hero: Jan Hejda. Rated 68 ov, Hejda played huge minutes with injuries to Blake, Staios, Hatcher and Stuart. Played in 8 full games averaging 19 minutes a game and had 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points in that span before being injured in his 9th game of the month. Recieved a 3rd star but more importantly was even and shut down the other team's top lines enabling the Thrashers to go on a run with 4 of the top 5 defenseman out.

Oilers nominate:
Forward: Vincent Lecavalier. 8g, 9a, 17 points despite missing 1.5 games due to injury. His goals often came in the third period to win or send the game to overtime, where he had one OT GWG. Also accrued 25 minutes in penalties.
Defence: Karel Rachunek. 3g, 6a, 9 points despite being a second-pairing defenceman for our team. He has been used in any given game either on the PP or on the PK this month. I don't know if player rating is considered when judging the defenceman of the week, but if it is then please note he has a 72 OV while the players above are rated higher (Boucher 79OV, Sydor 76OV). If rating only comes into play for unsung hero, then I nominate him for that instead.

Canucks nominate -
Rookie:
Travis Zajac
3 goals, 9 assists, 12 points
Another strong month for Zajac. He's making the most of his increased minutes and placement on the top line.

Unsung hero of the month. Sabres were led by the unsung 3 amigos of Mair, Scatchard and Jed Ortmeyer this month, but we nominate JED ORTMEYER 69 OV
14 GP 5 G 8 A 13 PTS +11 2 first star, 1 second star, 1 3rd star performance
nearly a PPG, nearly a plus per game and in over one quarter of the games he was one of the top 3 players on the ice. pretty good for a 69 OV 3rd/4th liner
goalie of the month
JS GIGUERE held the Sabres in the playoff race
11 GP 7 W 3L 1T 2.45 GAA 1 SO, 3 first star, 1 2nd star peformance

The Sharks would like to nominate:
Forward
Mikko Koivu: 6G 9A 15Pts +4
Playing on the 2nd line and a big part of our penalty kill, Koivu still managed to put up more than a point per game and an impressive plus/minus. Two 1st star and two 3rd star selections.
Defense
Bryan Allen: 3G 3A 6Pts +6
Allen has been a key contributor in points and shutdown performances and even missed the last game and two thirds with a slight injury. Without him, we lost both games, one of which was a shutout to the Jets! One 3rd star selection.
Unsung
Jamal Mayers: 2G 8A 10Pts +3
Playing only 3rd line and the occasional 2nd line PK duty, Mayers managed an impressive point count and plus/minus rating. His play has been instrumental in the Sharks recent success.
