Default Email Admins: Which Spam Blocker do you use?

I'm looking for another spam blocker to use on my Exchange mail server - Version 6.5 (Running on SBS 2003).

I'm using Spam Marshall right now but I'm not that happy with it. It seems like their new releases have more and more problems. The subscription runs out in December but I would like to have something new tested and in place before then.

Any admins have anything they can recommend?

We use SpamAssassin, which is integrated in Alt-N's MDaemon software for Windows environments. I would recommend SpamAssassin, however looks like getting it working with Exchange is possible but difficult.

I don't know much about Exchange, but is it capable of offloading the spam filtering job to one of these?

Most of my sites use MX Logic. It’s hosted email spam/malware filtering, a backup mail spool, etc.

We use MX Logic here.

Seems way better than any client solution I have ever used.

GFI Mail Essentials. We've been using it for a year and a bit and it's working quite well.

Barracuda. Its a Spam Filter device that sits between my firewall and the internet. I also can do Spam Filtering on my Firewall, but the Barracuda does a good job that I haven't bothered trying to do it on my firewall, which is a Fortigate device.

Symantec Brightmail, makes other appliances look a bit silly.

Dude, word to the wise?

Burn that 'cuda and fortigate pos. Buy a Brightmail and a Juniper firewall. Your users will love you and you will spend way less time messing with stuff.

We used Brightmail, it sucked so we switched to Barracuda. We don't use Fortigate for spam, we use it for firewall and it has been doing the job.

With Brightmail we were blocking about 6000 spam mails per day. Switched to Barracuda and we immediately saw less spam in our inboxes, and the daily report showed that we were blocking 7000 per day. Now we're up to 12000 blocked spam per day.
