Haha, awesome.
Too bad the VGA's are a joke. It's a bunch of Joe Schmoes from Maxim and Spike TV voting on their favorite games. It should be voted on by top writers and people in the industry, then there might actually be some legitimate awards handed out.
Super Mario Galaxy wasn't even NOMINATED for game of the year. Any GOTY show or article that doesnt at least nominate Galaxy should be immediately discounted. And honestly, these awards gave GOTY to Madden a couple years ago. Yeah, fun game, but game of the year?
It'll be nice if there's eventually a video game award show that is actually of some quality.

That has nothing to do with it being the game of the year.
If Halo 3 won GOTY it would have been an even bigger joke. Spike had to invent an award just so Halo 3 didn't get shut-out (Mountain Dew's Most Addictive Game...real surprising Halo 3 won that  ).
Like Cube said, any awards that don't even nominate Mario Galaxy for GOTY are a disgrace.

Halo3 won't win game of the year at any major, credible website or magazine awards. It probably won't win any "best FPS" awards either. The blind hype makes the game seem more than it is.
It seems to be Bioshock vs. Mario Galaxy this year.

I always found this VGA Awards to be just shameless sel-promotion of whichever developer pays the most money to have their product hawked. Then, they throw some random game titles in there to make it seem like it's a legit awards show. I tried watching it the first couple times when it first came out in 2002, but couldn't get through them without asking myself 'what the hell is this crap?'
I'm not sure how some of these titles can be nominated when they've only been out for like... 4-6 weeks.

I have to agree with these. Bioshock has been a very cool game. So immersive. It helps that I have been playing with some good headphones, but the whole thing is done top notch. Call of Duty 4 is crazy as well. So good loooking, and likely some of the best FPS experiences I have had in a long time. Call of Duty 3 sucked, I thought. Apparently they were developed by different studios. But yeah, COD4 is also top notch production. Halo 3 is only good for its multiplayer - it is a generic FPS with nothing near as outstanding as the games above.
