Dyeing Your Beard...

No, I don't have a grey beard. I'm looking to dye my beard white for the holidays, and I'm not really sure how to do it. So, I figured where better to get other people's opinion than CP!

My beard is really dark, so I'm assuming I'll have to bleach it, but are there actual white hair dyes out there? Are there specific dyes for facial hair, or should I use regular hair dyes? Any suggestions would definitely be appreciated!

I presume you're planning on masquerading as Santa Claus (or in some kind of festive death metal band)? If you only need it white on a one-off basis, try using talcum (baby) powder. When I was in high school and the presidential campaigns were going on I went as Bill Clinton (stuffed my torso with a pillow) for Halloween, and to get my hair grey I just dumped an assload of talcum powder on it. The more you use, the whiter it gets. Quite authentic, actually; washes out no problem. Plus, it smells kind of good - albeit baby-ish.

My biggest problem with the talcum powder is that, well...I sweat a lot. Wouldn't be so bad if it was just my hair, but with it being my beard I have a feeling it wouldn't last for very long.

Oh... well you could really load it up good? Like I mean an entire bottle of Johnson's and Johnson's. Enough to make a baby blush.


Or... get someone to scare the living crap out of you. Like crap-your-pants scared. Apparently people's hair turns white?


Other than that... peroxide is your friend.
