The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorist Prevention Act.

Will this bill really be the death of freedom of speech, or worse, freedom of though in America? Will the government really have free reign to police the thoughts and words of it's citizens for voicing discontent, opinions or ideas that are not in-line with those of the government?

Is it the 9th of 10 steps to close down a free society and instill a fascist government?

I'm not a political person, and I don't really follow these kind of things very often, but the idea of this is very frightening. I'd love to hear what the deep thinkers of CP have to say about this.

There are a lot of ambiguous words in there such as "Ideologically". In one context, yes that could be taken to mean against the American Ideal. This would give the government allowance to take action against anyone who's professed ideology is "incompatible".

However, much worse has already been committed in the US in the form of McCarthy'ism. That failed in light of the Constitution and any misuse of this proposal would likely fail as well.
