Default Encounter with the Moose & his thoughts on Keenan

So last week we were on vacation in Harbour Island Bahamas. On our last night on Friday we went to a very small upscale boutique hotel/restaurant called Runaway Hill Club for dinner - which is owned by Mark Messier. We were hoping he would be there but weren't counting on it.

Low & behold shortly after arriving, we saw Messier sitting in the bar area having a beer at a table with a bunch of other people. When the group headed into the restaurant, Mark walked around to a few of the other tables & made small talk with them asking how things were going etc.

So I tell hubby, if he stops by, don't tell him we are from Calgary - just say Alberta. SO Messier comes to our table does the standard small talk and when he asks where we are from Hubby blurts out Calgary, "& my wife just told me to tell you we are only from Alberta." Well Messier thought this was hilarious & LOL -it ended up being a good ice breaker b/c he sat and chatted with us for quite a long time! Very nice down to earth guy who has quite the life coming down to the island & his hotel every 6 weeks or so.

Anyway, we asked him about his thoughts on Keenan & the Flames. He has full confidence in Keenan & sang his praises (of course) and said it would take half the season before things really took off! But he figured it would happen, he thought it was a great match (Keenan & Flames team)

Anyway, that was my long-winded story I thought I would share – great guy, truly amazing hotel/restaurant & very charming little Island, rich in Caribbean culture/life.

My question is, how do you even find a wife who knows who Messier is? My wife would just say to me, "don't talk to the bald guy if he comes over here, he looks scary"

Do they have moose as one of the entre's on the menu? Being a Carribean restaurant I doubt it. Sounds more like something Joel Otto would serve at his restaurant if he owned one.

Pretty cool story though.

I wish I could afford a banana, but if wishes and buts were candy and nuts. You know the rest.

I have a g/f like that . It's actually kinda rough sometimes as she always catches things I miss. We were watching a game live one day and out of nowhere she yells "to many men!!" I kid you not, every guys head within audio range snapped around and looked at her and sure enough, 2 secs later visiting team got a penalty for to many men.
