Default Car Covered in Concrete

I was just driving down 9th ave to head to the Flames Christmas sale, and in all the construction between 2nd street and 1st street SW they were pouring concrete into these huge metal containers (to lift with a crane?) on the side of the road. As I drove by, not sure from where, but concrete splattered along the entire length of my car. By the time I parked at the dome, it had hardened.

I don't want to scratch my paint by rubbing it, is there anything I can do to get this off myself? Phone the construction company and make them deal with it?

HELP!

The new goggles also do nothing.

Wow, that's nasty. I'm not sure how you'd get it off.. if you could flake it off carefully you could probably get the residue off with a clay bar.

I'd call them and get them to deal with it.

The concrete would have froze instantly in this weather. Go to a pressure wassher and simply hose it off. If that doesnt work (it will) come back and I'll tell you what to do. Don't park inside until afteryou do this, and obviously don't rub it with anything.

Did some googling and found this.....

Cement and plaster are alkaline compounds. They are easily removed from clothes, woodwork, your body and cars using distilled white vinegar (a mild acid). Simply soak a sponge with the vinegar and lay it on the cement spots for a few seconds. This will loosen the cement so it can be hosed away. It may take a couple applications to remove the cement from the car. Whatever you do, don't try to wipe the cement off with the sponge, as this will scratch the paint.

Wolf®

And the response......

Wolf,

Although it took a bit of scrubbing, the vinegar worked! I made sure to rinse my sponge after every wipe as to not scratch the paint, so it's going slow, but I'd rather take my time rather than scratch the paint. Some places are tougher than others. There's A LOT left to do, as some of the trim, weatherstripping, etc. needs to come off so I can clean underneath it. The 6” x 12" section I cleaned last night took about a half hour. Look at the photos in my gallery. Thanks for your help!! Now I can sleep at night…

It's their problem. Contact them immediately.

On a related note, I used to do travel writing for magazines. I did a junket to San Francisco and learned that the Golden Gate Bridge, due to its size, is almost always being painted. When they finish at one end, they pretty much go back to the start and start repainting again. They keep a crew on site to deal with paint splatters on cars. At least that's what the tourism people I dealt with told me.
