that is the problem with putting 8 year olds in such a competitive level of hockey, at that age it should be about fun.

Even as an 8 year old you're still competitive. IMO when it comes to minor hockey, emotion is great because it devolps passion for the game in the players at a young age which is healthy. But if its a dick head coach, then its not right.

two coaches that should automatically be suspended!
this kinda of thing is hard to fathom. the old philosophy holds true, they can be some of the smartest people in the world, but you toss a helmet on them and all sense of reason goes out the window!
8 year olds in an on ice brawl. pick them up by the scruff of the neck and plant their asses on a bench!
And where were the referees when these kids started to go at it, they should have been in there in a heartbeat and pulled these kids apart.
what a freaking mess!

I say ban the coaches for life!
Kids at that age don't need that type of garbage influence in their lives.

definately one year suspensions, apply to be reinstated after one year, prove you have taken the Speak out and Anger Management courses, and prove that you are a normal human being who otta give their friggin heads a shake.

I have always said: Ontario has the hockey cork stuck a bit too far!!!
Another Brawl......... 8 year olds.
Unbelievable.....ok...not really anymore. But it sure seems the worst incidents come from Ontario. most populated or not they have more than their fair share.
The Niagara Falls Thunder have a tape of the incident but won't release it.
But police have a copy and allege that one of the Niagara coaches spat on a Duffield coach and that both coaches sent most of their players from the bench on to the ice.
"It doesn't show which team left the bench first but it does show a physical altercation between the two coaches," Sgt. Cate Welsh, a Guelph police spokeswoman, told the Guelph Mercury newspaper on Monday.

This was already posted in the "Other Sports" forum.
However, I didn't realize that Ontario had more 8 year old brawlers than other places in Canada and the US. Interesting.
