Hockey Visors
Well im looking around town to buy a good Visor for rec hockey and just pond.
I have the RBK large helmet and im clueless to which ones will fit on it. I asked a employee at sportcheck but just got a " uh they should all fit but I dont play hockey so I dont know " Great help.
My price range would be $ 30-60, Im not looking for NHL quality and Ovechkin tinted visors.
I know the RBK helmets make me look like Mcgoof but they feel great on my melon.

I imagine that they'll all fit. Just take your helmet with you when you're shopping for it and check the size then.

Consider buying a full sheild.
I played with just a visor for a couple years then took a puck in the jaw, few stitches and a small scar. Few week later I witness a guy lose at least 8 teeth, stick in the mouth. That was enough for me.
It's just rec, not worth the dental bills.

Any of them should fit the helmet. I bought my oakley on ebay for $40 and it retails for 100. I love it, need to get a new one after a few close calls

My unsolicited advice would be to NOT go with the tinted visor. They look terrible, and you put yourself at the same level as someone who wears number 99 in a rec league. Show some self respect, go with a regular clear visor.

My other suggestion would be to get one that isn't pressed up against your face. If it is, it'll fog up real bad. I think I just have a Bauer on mine and I like it. I prefer going without but with the meatsticks I play against in my rec league, it isn't worth the risk.

I used to wear an Itech one a few years ago and hated it as it fogged up a lot. Switched to an Oakley one and love it, I would definitely recommend those, but as another poster mentioned they're usually close to 100 bucks. Maybe go the ebay route as well, I'm sure every visor can fit pretty much every brand of helmet.

Yeah, any CSA visor should fit any type of CSA helmet. I used to play without the visor myself, but after that Sami Salo thing decided that I should probably be using one. I got the I-tech one and it does tend to fog up a bit. I've even suffered a cracked nose from a puck to the face before and still played without one after that for like 8 years. Talk about being a stubborn idiot.

Go with full shield. Otherwise you will eventually lose a couple chicklets and wind up dropping a grand on your teeth. Then you'll go get a full shield.
Skip the middleman. Just get the full shield. I recommend anything by Itech. They fit most helmets and last pretty much forever.
Just because others have mentioned that Itech's fog - I have found that a couple quick squirts from the anti-fog stuff you can buy at any hockey shop works really well. Keeps it clean too.

The best two visors on the market right now are probably under armour (prett expensive) and the itech x100, it is the type you will see most of the players and refs in the WHL use. It runs at 100 dollars but is nice because you can buy replacment visors for 35 dollars if your original gets scratched up. The less you spend, they will fog up more, and you will have poorer vision. I would definitly recommend the itech one, its what i use and i really like it. As far as keeping them clean, pledge is probably the thing that works the best.

I bought a little spray bottle of Defogger from Done Right, 2 sprays, wipe and I'm fine for the length of a game.

I use the itech x100.. the replacement visors are awsome, compared to shelling out for a whole new visor. It's big and curved so it's harder for a stick to go up under it. That being said, I got hit into the boards and the visor/helmet pressed in against my face and damn near sheared the end of my nose off... I see why now some of the players use the visor with the big curve in the center that seems to leave their nose unprotected...

Beware people like me who get a lot of amusement out of pushing the back of your helmet up, causing your visor to sink into your nose!
Lots of fun with that move.

I think you're right. My apologies.
However, those tinted visors ARE stupid!

Three words...Oakley Small Aviator...simply amazing. I usually hate visors, but this thing's ridiculous. I use it for reffing, and I never, ever fog up. Doesn't scratch easily either. They're 80 bones a piece, but in my opinon they're worth their weight in gold.
But one thing you have to make sure to do...get a helmet bag! Don't just toss your visor in with the rest of your equipment. Get an old pillowcase or something and put it in there. It'll make your investment go a lot farther, that's for sure.
