Fantasy football help
Have 2 RB spots and 5 viable choices to fill them. The implications are HUGE...ok, maybe not. I'm 3-8 (with a bullet! won 3 of last 4) and have an outside shot at the playoffs, but it's probably not going to happen. This game is against my division leader and he's a Raiders fan so,....that's motivation enough!
Anyway...here are my options in the order I am considering them right now...
1. Selvin Young (assuming Henry is not playing which I think is a safe bet)
2. Steven Jackson
3. Priest Holmes
4. cedric Benson
5. Kevin Jones
Thoughts?

Well Holmes does draw a matchup with the Raiders who aren't very good against the run. His problem right now is that after about 15 touches he's worn out because...well he really couldn't work out all that serioulsy until recently. Last two weeks he basically got all his yardage on his first 12 carries or so than hit a wall. Based on that I'd keep Jackson ahead of him for sure.

Holmes has apparently hurt his neck again.
Jones is playing Green Bay, and they have been on fire.
Benson playing Broncos, no idea about that matchup, but I can see why you'd shy away from that potential conflict of interest.
Jackson is playing Seattle who's 18th against the run, he's DUE for a big game, isn't he? And Young is playing Chicago, which should be a good match.

I'd go with Jackson and Benson. Not going to blow you away but I think they are the safest bets for points. Kevin Jones and Selvin young could explode, but are also candidates to throw up a stinker.

Well, Benson has been dog dung all year until this past week which is the first time I didn't start him. I think Young is actually the safer bet of the two.

Denver's run defense has been pretty generous this season... but so has Chicago's! I'd probably take Benson over Young this week... ride that hot streak. But I think it's close and Young has slightly more upside (because any Denver back is capable of 100 yards in any given game).
If I were you and a Broncos fan, I'd definitely start Young.

Yeah, he took a couple of shots vs. the Colts. I admire the guy for making a comeback and his work ethic and attitude. But unfortunately football is a nasty game that can really mess you up. The results of his comeback were a bit predictable, even if my emotions wanted to hope for better. He was a great player for the Chiefs in his prime. I'm sure he'll be successful in his future endeavors.
Grab Kolby Smith off the waiver wire....the Chiefs have no one else to use right now!

This is how I would play them:
1. Selvin Young - Henry won't be back this week and Young would be going up against a Bears defence, which is ranked in the bottom 5 for Rush defence.
2. Cedric Benson - I don't think Benson will get too many runs, however I think Benson will be apart of alot of screen and dump passes to protect Grossman against INT's.
3. Kevin Jones - Going up against a strong team and top 10 rush defence team, I would not put too much stock into this guy. I think Detroit will come out thinking they will have to play the pass game to beat the Packers (which they will lose) and Jones will get very limited use.
4. Steven Jackson - He will be going up against an average, however with Jackson he seems to run almost double when playing on the road. And with him playing at home I would not expect anything special
5. Priest Holmes - Done

Have you thought of picking up Ricky Williams?

Steven Jackson's last five starts: 96 yds / 133 yds / 50 yds+TD (hurt) / 100 yds + TD / 112 yds. Seattle has allowed 11 rushing TDs, 3rd most in the league. He's a must-start in my opinion... ahead of everyone above.

Well Dis....did you take my advice and grab Smith? Smith and Jackson would have had a good first half for you!

It's Jackson and Young.
Unless Young is a no go. Then I'll stick Benson in.
I'm in Kansas...Kolby Smith has been gone since LJ went down!
I have a sizable lead and 7 players left to play to his 3.
He's having a real bad week.

OK...Selvin Young is not playing.
New dilema. I forgot that I picked up Andre Hall!
So Hall or Benson? Do I believe in the Broncos dedication to the run on the road? Do I believe in the Bears ability to keep from getting behind with Rex at QB?
Tough choice right now! What would you guys do?

Well, I went with the 'smart' non-homer move and put Benson in.
Now Hall has a TD and Benson has what looks like a broken ankle.
I think I'm safe in the game though.

Well, Gates singlehandedly scores me a win yet again. The amount of times this year that Gates or Westbrook have singlehandedly led me to victory is ridiculous. Next year if I have first shot at the RB's, I'm seriously taking Westbrook over any other player at that position, he's THAT valuable.
