Jim's for me... only place with a chair from the freaking Montreal Forum in it. I personally like that type of barber more than a hairdresser atmosphere..... although once and a while I would love to go to a place that offered a shave too.

True story when I was a kid living in Brooks (explains a lot I know) I used to get a trip into Calgary in order to get my hair cut and once due to schedules due to his golf tournament I had to wait for around 4-5 months to get my hair cut....

I go to Diva in Northland Mall - decent looking hairdressers, the hot towel treatment, it's a decent experience. If it wasn't too out of the way for me, I'd go to MVP in Kensington (personal TV while it's getting done, playstation and fooseball in the waiting area).

I asked about the shave treatment once, and it's not allowed by the province because of AIDS - the blade needs to be sterilized, not just sanitized.

Supercuts! Only $11 as I only ever get it buzzed off, down to half an inch. In and out in 10 minutes.

I don't like hair.

Prior to my wife now keeping my hair neat and trimmed, I used to go to Antonio's in the base of the Calgary Tower. Definitely more the 'barber' experience rather than a 'salon'. Would usually get my hair cut by Joe, a cool, snazzy Italian guy. Did a good job for about $20.

Well some people do obviously. Personally I've been going to the same hairdresser for several years, she's around my age and a cool girl. So basically my time at the hairdressers is hanging around with a friend I see every month.

I go to a little place called The Attic on 4th St although my hairdresser moved there from Man-Woman a while back and I moved with her.

Watch it!

I figure good looking girl + hot towel + good haircut = worth the 30 minutes and 26 bucks

I save money on haircuts by shaving my head with a BIC.

$26 for a haircut? Haha these guys must be millionaires. It takes 15 minutes to get a haircut.

If you like the ladies, like I do, and don't mind spending the extra dough (in that $25 range), I have a friend that works at Fairly Vanilla downtown, opposite corner to the Epcore Centre. I tell you what, if you're going for the experience as well as the haircut, this place is awesome. Great design, all the girls there have a great sense of humour, and very, very... um... "tallented".

Just thought I'd throw that out there. I've found a new place in Red Deer, but I thought I would let people know of this place.

EDITED: For smiley goodness.

Seriously though... people getting a hair cut for the experience (Hot chicks or not) is new to me... I always thought getting a hot "Hair Cutter (Is that even a word?)" was a bonus, but I really don't care who cuts my hair.

I go to Eau Claire Hair...the girl who cuts my hair is very nice and very attractive.

I've also tried MVP and had the same experience-they were trying too hard. It would have been good if it worked out there as I get my massages next door.

I think the word would be 'hairdresser'.

I've had longer hair for a while so the barber is no longer an option for me. They don't know how to do long hair.

I went to Stephens of Stephens a few times. The girl there did a great job, was friendly and quite attractive. And she was the best at scalp massages I'd ever had. Could feel it all the way down to your toes! Didn't skimp either, massaged your head for maybe ten minutes AFTER the shampoo (if there wasn't a ton of people waiting)

But she left to go to the East Coast, so I tried out the hair college (Delmar) after my gf got a fantastic cut there.

They did a pretty good job, and you can't beat the price (9 bucks!) but it takes quite a long time. I think was there for an hour and a half. I stopped in in between meetings at work. Was there for probably two hours. Lucky for me that with my job, and between my pager/pda and my cell phone, I can do a lot of my work from anywhere.

Might have to try this Diva place Calf is fond of.

since you might take my recommendation, I should put a disclaimer - while there are a bunch of good lookin' hair cutters (:P), it can be hit or miss. they also do the scalp massage etc too.

I just go to whichever place has a coupon in my coupon book, or anywhere that has a deal going on. Usually ends up being First Choice or Great Clips. I hate them both, and they often do a terrible job.

I should really start caring and putting in the extra cash for extra quality, but I just can't be bothered.
