Lol, this is pretty cool, it'd be neat to drive there for the launch (the second one actually).

I fear for the da Vinci team, SpaceShipOne has already had a shakedown flight while they've given no indication that Wild Fire will have one before the launch.. Not even any integration tests (that they've posted anyway). But they seem confident, and apparently their design methodology is very impressive.

Still you have to wonder how anyone can really compete with Burt Ruttan and the bucks of Paul Allen. Like you I wonder about Da Vinci's lack of a test run before the main event. Thing is, Da Vinci is considered to be a frontrunner - you have to wonder what some of the other efforts look like.

Almost like the schmoes from American Chopper up against Ferrarri to build a fast car....
